Hi! I am from Indonesia .. I'm really interested in this phone and want to buy it because the spec of this phone is all that I wanted .. but after reading the reviews I was so scared to buy this phone .. and I had a bad experience with a Sony service center Indonesia when fixing my Z2 which fell and the glass broke.. i want a recommendation is there any other phone that had spec similar like this phone or should i just buy this phone with a risk that it will had problems when i just buy it? Thank you guys..

I'm using this device but haven't got any problem to operate it on.it's just awesome & far batter then any other devices like samsung, htc lab lab lab lab.....samsung is the phone for ladies it looks always like ladies . the elegant is sony and the ultimate elegant is Iphone.

Having the same problem with my Xperia M5 dual phone. I'm in Aloran Misamis Occidental. Bought this phone at Gloria Bazaar Ozamiz City. Can I also get a replacement? Is there an assurance that the replacement would function well.

Bought and used M5 for above 2 months. Issues include
(i) Cannot update the phone using Bridge (Mac) or Companion (Win), or directly from the software update on the phone, even new update is available
(ii) auto shutdown problem (first time) and can only turn it on by connecting to a USB charger
(iii) device getting hot
(iv) calendar -> task list is not automatically sorted by due date unless you manually select the sorting option from the menu (so inconvenient)
(v) contact -> when editing a phone record, the group list is not ordered by the group name (so inconvenient)
(vi) when trying to talk using the earphone set, the opposite end cannot hear you. Problem can be resolved by power off / on the phone

Have the same problem here..it shuts down by itself. It still has its overheating problem as with the other models. Will be returning this unit to sony..

bun, 17 Nov 2015But from this website most of them said they face autoshutd... moreIt shut down when there is no 4G signal. I have changed another M5 at my retailer in HK but bug still exist. Bring you powerbank with you is not a solution coz you will never know when you have lost your connection. Lost a lot of business after using M5.

There is a setting for 4G, 3G and 2G under your sim settings in which we normally choose 4G or 3G preferred. However, there are times when we totally lose signals from elevators and other remote places and our settings is on 4G or 3G preferred, it dies. And the only thing to do is to charge it so you can turn it on, force restarts don't work.
Workaround: If you dont want it to die, always use the 2G on the sim settings and use wifi for connection.
If you still want to use the mobile data like 4G and 3G, have your powerbank with u.
Until today, that bug is unresolved. I already have another m5, the first one belonged to the first batch, and still, same bug occurs.

Last weekend i went to sony center malaysia, that guy told me not to update the handset before marshmallow update officially release...once u update, ur handset will having auto-shutdown problem.
BTW everyone also updated their M5?

unsuccessful update via Sony PC Companion led my M5 Dual to a piece of wood. I can not
turn it on anymore. nothing works

Those who are looking to buy this phone, pls don't buy this phone. Instead your best choice is Z3 or Z3+ at the same price as of M5.
