    I from Malaysia. Victim of New M5 dual Sim auto shutdown too. Found another problem that m5 sim2 not possible to quick swith prefer network with or without LTE via icon.
    Anyone know Sony final solution? It is software or hardware failure of the set??

        I am from the Philippines and bought my xperia M5 October 2, 2015. Im quite disappointed with this unit. It keeps shutting down whenever LTE sim is used. Sad, Sony had to place my unit in service center and I have to wait. trash

Previously I guessed it related to power save mode which may be related to light sensor. Power management may be the key of problems.

            This phone having 3GB RAM but its system app already using 700mb when restarted.
            also I noticed that system app "smart backlight control" used 7.4mb when new restarted and then increased to 430mb after 3 days. so what will happen after a week without restarting this phone? why this system app "smart backlight control" used such amount of RAM. it looks like this app is connected when you click the " Mobile Bravia Engine 2" on image enhancement menu.

Unti... moreI am from Myanmar(Burma) and finally managed to negotiate with sony service manager, he offered me to chose new xperia handset(higher/lower model)except M5. So, I decided to get new Z2,which is old flagship model but better than faulty M5 in almost every aspects..Z2 costs less than M5 price nowadays(M5=465000kyats/Z2=450000kyats) The manager returned me 15000kyats(local currency)as a refund. Now, I am quite happy with Z2 and no more problems so on...thx Sony retailers.
                Eveybody with this M5, you should ask local official dealers about exchanging stable/well-known xperia flagships models like Z2/Z3/Z5 with this one and (adding extra cash added for Z3/Z5).
                Sony is really not sucked at all.Only the M5 series sucked!

When I changed my network settings to GSM or wcdma/GSM the shut down issue was gone. My m5 now is working great. I was once replaced by m5 units before I read a solution in a forum in other site. Now I'm just waiting for Android marshmallow update.
