Very disappointed with my Xperia P. It is a nice looking phone and I was to start with very happy to have it, but pretty soon it started to play up. The WiFi isn't released even if I leave the network, the phone believes it should still use WiFi rather than data - 30 minutes walk from my home network and the phone still hasn't realised it. I can't switch of the WiFi any other way than through restarting, so now I have to restart every time I leave the house. Furthermore the phone often doesn't understand the concept of "switch off" but restarts instead.
Phone memory often freezes and I have to restart.
Yes, I had it in for service. That just meant a new software update and that the camera issues I had before were fixed, and that more of my calls are actually coming through now, but the majority of the issues were not fixed. However I can't be without my phone for another 2-3 weeks so I am reluctant to even hand it in.
Will never get an Xperia again!

You can update your phone by three ways:

                          - OTA (directly from phone - Over The Air)
                          - from PC connecting to official update (with PCCompanion or SonyUpdateService)
                          - from PC using downloaded firmware - ftf file (Flashboot)

Current JB update is worldwide version that can be updated easily with second option (OTA is still not available), and no need for third option.

Actually, there is nothing to fix. Heavy usage drains battery in a matter of hours, be it Xperia P or Galaxy S3.

Over the air. Download the update straight to your phone. Note that this option is provider-dependent – not all providers offer over the air updates.
Use a cable to connect your phone to a computer. Then update with one of our computer applications.
