I bought my Xperia P 4days back, and it's a fantastic choice. Beautiful Design, ICS OS, and reasonable price are major positives. Battery life is good enough for an average user like myself. Highly recommended.

Beside, different (higher) firmware numbers doesn't necessarily means newer firmware because there are dozen different numbered firmwares with same OS version (different numbers means different region, or something specific to certain provider etc.)

P.S. Any kind of screen protection (hard case, sleeve...) will prevent accidental activation of your screen when you put it in your pocket with thin fibre (during summer).

bar96, 06 Feb 2013i downloaded instagram on my xperia p. when i checked the c... moreopen instagram and look up to settings. there is a camera setting there, click it then uncheck advanced instagram camera. you're good to go.
i recommend everyone to upgrade to 6.1.1.B.1.75 as it made my phone run more smoothly with improved battery life. for those who have problems with battery life, aside from those already mentioned (i.e. widgets), you can try to limit background processes to 4 in the developer options. others set it to 1-2. multitasking will be limited once this is set but battery life does improve (well it did for me). i prefer 4 since 1-2 is extremely limited, i can still multitask appropriately with 4 set.

you can connect your phone to pc, it will prompt out for pc companion installation, just install it on your pc will do. PC companion will detect your phone whether which system have to update.

i downloaded instagram on my xperia p. when i checked the camera its only half. its doesnt show all. but camera is working well w/out instagram. what am i going to do?

the positive thing its an affordable smart phone with good 8MP camera and good video quality, playing music is also good.
the bad thing you cannot replace the battery, the phone hangs many times, plus wifi service is also poor, i want to replace my phone because of these bad qualities

Z!, 05 Feb 2013Thanks for your reply! I'm talking about 5-6 hour long trip... moreI cannot help you much because I dont use GPS often, but I am not sure if Xperia P battery could last 5-6 hours with GPS on. You might look for some heavy-weight battery smartphone like Motorola Razr or iPhone.
