The ability to hook it up as an external monitor to a lot of devices with the micro-HDMI port (which can also connect to one of their alpha cameras to control so those who work in the sports media and movie industry), 12GB RAM/512GB ROM, equivalent of MIL-STD-G protection, and the multitude of 5G antennas (more than your usual phone) that absorbs the network MUCH better than any 5G phone at the moment.
TL;DR, it's only for professionals. Unless you are one, the upcoming Xperia one mark iii will be more for us.

I see a lot of people bashing this phone however the reality is that this phone isn't meant for any us here. i have seen a few videos about this phone and this phone really is for ''professionals''. and by that I don't mean people that like to run competitive benchmarks on their phone but for people that actually use video equipment for earning their paycheck. it's meant as an versatile accesory for high end cameras. this isn't a phone for the masses that's is the experia 1 ii pr experia 5 ii.

i will rather go for xiaomi Mi 11 pro (or Mi10 ultra), sorry sony! with total unreal 2000 price, bye bye! ;-) or if i want buy and stay by total top premium brand phone for 1200 will buy samsung S21ultra.. so another bye bye once more , sony with that price forget any bit of sucess, r.i.p.

Definitely for live-streamers and broadcasters.

You can get a Snapdragon 865 phone with 12gb ram and 128gb of storage, add 512gb high speed microSD, add a military grade protection case and get a micro HDMI cable convertor and still have €1500 left.

Hec...Made in japan not china... I don't need to explain to you why the price is high. The problem with Sony is not the price or the specs or the design. Marketing is the problem.

That being said, as EVERYONE has said already (if you scroll down a notch), this was not made for commoners like us. It's only for major companies and content creators. That's it. We wait for the Xperia one mark iii before throwing stones.

Function over form. If you put this phone with a P40 Pro-style design, it will compromise its structural integrity, especially since this phone really deals "harsher" environment than the typical smartphone do. I mean, specialize phones like Gaming Phones or this always has the number of bezels.
2.) Well, do you want Xperia Pro to be thin as the former Moto Z series? That will revoke the majority of the crucial Xperia Pro components and systems, due to compromise on thinness. I mean, it's physics, everything needs its space to work
3.) For the price tag, I know it's sky-high of 2500 USD / 2050 Euro, but professional equipment like this was never cheap at all. Especially, the target Sony is reaching for this phone is super niche... Just saying 🤔
