Actually it's very good mobile to long term use. I have gone through many Samsung S2 etc. But this phone is much better than those. I recommend to buy this phone.

          Hi Guys
I was reading comments and it push me to put mine. I was using S3 from last four months now I shift to Xperia S. I think its not a bad phone. Things depends on "our requirements, needs & expectations" and "how we are using smart phone".
I am using HTC Chacha too and I made it as per my needs. Now I am using Xperia S and I am still happy. I love the way it work.

Don't blame Sony phones, blame Android :). But to be honest, S is first Android phone for me (after years of Symbian) and i must admit, it's rather fast and consistent, compared to a lot of other Android products out there.

The battery life of my xperia is too short ( about 7 hrs) even if all functions are close. usage is like wise regular. Is this normal. How will I know if it is a defective battery?

                          1 Sony Z5
                          2 Sony Ericsson P1
                          3 Sony Xperia S
First two I used for over 5 years each. I never wished to change them (I'm certainly not someone who wants to change the phone the minute that the newer more able model arrives nor I use most of my time examining the specs and comparing them to competition).
I just like to have beautiful phone (all of those 3 were beautiful in their time) and to be useful (so that the phone serves me, and not vice versa). The moment my last one demanded service from me, I realized there are simpler and more useful possibilities out there.
With tears in my eyes I'm saying goodby to Sony as far as phones are concerned.
(Still have 2 hi-fi audio sets from, 2 TVs, 2 Vaio notebooks from them and still like them - especially the LED TV, and I even still use outrageously expensive MD Walkman, but perhaps you were born after MD era?)...

AnonD-10489, 16 Jan 2013Ok iPhone troll he told phone memory and internal storage n... moreNo need to be rude. If you go back to April you'll see many of my posts prizing Xperia S. that was when it still had GB 2.3.7.
I just loved it. I also have Sony tablet S since October 2011. I came to possession of an iPad when I bought it to my daughter and she preferred Sony, so I was left with iPad (which I never tried and was reluctant to use due to lack of SD slot, need for iTunes, etc.) however, once I started using it I fell in love. I still have Xperia S and its my only phone. It failed me so many times... Can't even rely to make photos. Every once in a while I need to restart it... Meanwhile I've bought 4S to my wife, and 5 to my daughter and must say I'm envious, can't find a victim to reasonably sell Xperia and move to iOS. I don't think it's a crime, is it!?
I'm using my Xperia only to make calls, ever since I got iPad, which coincided with the date of ICS upgrade for Xperia. So don't blame me for forgetting about specs of Xperia.
When I bought Xperia S I was so exited, I constantly tweaked it, and did all sorts of upgrades and redesigns of the homepages. What I found out is tha t since I got iPad I do not care of any tweaks, I just use it and it never once failed me. Smoth and efficient. Period. Then I realized how leggy and jerky Xperia is compared to iPad. Naturally I assumed iPhone would be as good. And guess what - it looks like it is?
Finally, just to make clear, I'm a consulting engineer aged over fifty and can afford all the gadgets I like and want. So it's not problem for me to own Xperia. It's more of a problem to throw it after I paid the same as I could have for iPhone 4S. I thought Xperia was cooler, beautiful and different. And it probably is aesthetically, but in terms of usability and functionality it is, unfortunately, far behind. Sorry you've got upset. What upsets me is how Sony (my first love) is failing to deliver even as compared to likes of cheap Korean makers unworthy to even mention their names here...

Joty, 17 Jan 2013so wts good for camera? There are a lot of good phone cameras out there :) Most of them are from Nokia and Sony, though. I have been long time Nokia user (screw them for abandoning Symbian and MeeGo) and after i jumped into Android ship, i chose Sony. Because of camera (which is important to me). S has pretty nice camera, especially considering that its price is dropped by now. You may get some yellow tint on inside photos if you use predefined scenes, but with some tweaking it's avoidable. Also, i hope JB update will fix it.

Xperia s is superb. It's camera is fantastic. And I would say this is one of the best phone I have used. I am waiting for the jelly bean update. Gaming and ppi density is wonderful.
