i am using xperia-s since last 3 months. overall good phone, but most poor part of the phone is 12 MP Camera.
Sony makes and belive to make people fool by wrong information about its phone. The camera of xperia-s is poor then Galaxy S2. It is not 12 MP, it is less than 8 MP. Photos in daylights are brighter then the light (difficult to identify the face), night photos are pixlate. Very bad Camera I have ever seen.

Personally I must say i fell in love with this phone when i first saw it and did not hesitate to buy it but i really am disappointed in the phones's battery life,i mean i have done everything there is to reduce the battery's consumption,SONY PLEASE HELP US WITH AN UPDATE MAYBE...I LOVE THIS PHONE..

hi! I own this xperia s with 2.3.7 when upgrated to 4.0.4 having a lots of issues
*flash working with default browser fine but not with chrome,firefox,dolfin etc.
*music volume has gone low.
*about battry stay not so good as before.

BATTERY LIFE
Now there are heaps of things which increases the battery discharge, some of those things are:
1) live wallpapers (which are really cool by the way)
2) illumination bar (mine blinks when i have a msg or miss call)
3) touch vibrate and sound
4) Sony bravia screen (increase brightness and colour) and the SXS has a big screen and more PPI which will increase bat discharge.
5) Apps which constantly tries to connect to web to update (OTA)
6) Apps which are open but not doing anything
Just turning above things off will help minimize battery discharge.
RAM (SXS has 1GB)
Those who own a SXS has a section where you can see how much ram the phone is using that the total doesn't equal 1gb. That's because X amount (around 300mb) is allocated to the phones operation. The rest is for apps and games. Now unless the phone has a pop up saying "can't play or open app" due to not habing enough ram space, there's nothing to worry about. Sony have spent bundles of cash in R&D and found that for 1gb of ram is enough for the average user.
12MP CAMERA
i have been using the Nokia N8 for the last 2 years and have updated to the SXS as my plan has finished. I'm a photo nazi and love taking pics of everything hence my requirement for a good camera with my phone. The image quality on the SXS compared to my N8 is the same or in most circumstances better than my N8. Also when I compare the image, I upload and compare on a PC not from the phone screen as the screen doesn't show true. Only thing I don't like about the SXS camera is that there's no way to turn flash on, the phone always makes the choice for you.

Hello Guys,Who want ot update this phone to ICS but u dont know how.Go to http://www.sonymobile.com/glob...fware/phone/ then click sofware, then click "ur phone" then click "Check for update" (But u must Get Java) Then something come up click "allow",then conect ur USB to PC or Laptop.Wait and click "update",Then wait and plug off ur USB From PC or Laptop.Ur phone will Power Off Shutting down,Wait and ur phone will restart,wait and something come up from ur phone then scrolled down the "click it",Then click "Download",then clik "ready for install" Then click "install" and "install",then ur phone will power off shutting down,ur phone will restart and "DONE"

U talk about the shape not being convenient, were U sleeping before buying the phone, u didnt check the display device n get a feel of this phone... no updates since two months, U want updates everyday i guess.... i would like to know what is your expectation from this phone as U are telling, 'nothing works as expected'?? what is the problem with the camera?? battery life depends upon how you use the phone & as it is battery life is short in android devices, you should have known this before buying one....

I bought this phone 2 months ago and I am really disappointed... the battery life is really poor and there are no new android updates. The camera is not as good as I expected from a 12 mega pixel phone. The shape of the phone is not convenient at all and nothing works as I expected it to do. I have no words. I trusted sony with my phones for years but this time it completely let me down.

AnonD-86112, 11 Dec 2012no, RAM is not 1GBIt is 1GB RAM. 300MB is reserved for the Adreno GPU and the Android system while the other 700MB is user-available RAM. Would have preferred a much better RAM allocation though.
