I've tried every possible settings on my cam and all I got are 1080 50i. When you said yours is 1080 50p than I realised your HD cam must be AVCHD progressive model. However the things that make XS can't run the HD files might be is the lack of codecs support - MPEG high profile video codec and AC-3 audio codec. Afaik MX player also doesn't support these codec (correct me if i'm wrong).
Full HD video can only be transfered via HDMI cable, that's why I think usb media storage not working.

Sometimes I don't get it, why people always bragging another phone in this thread. It's XS' thread for God's sake.
Im not a samsung fan boy, though I use S2. Before using S2, I used Arc S then changed to XS. I adore Sony's products, it's always have something refreshing, either the design, the UI, etc.
I love my XS, it's far more sophisticated than S2. The only reason I sold my XS is because in Indonesia, Sony's after-sales-services are f*ckin disgusting. When I bought my XS, I got a yellow tint when the phone got heat, then I claimed to the service center, and it took a MONTH just to change into new LCD.
After a long waiting, I got my new LCD. But guess what, my new LCD had a yellowish color on the lowest part of the LCD, while the upper part had a normal white. I tried to claimed again, but the service center said it was a normal thing. Damn, I feel sorry for Sony to have such a moron people working for them in Indonesia.
I really loved my XS, it had more feature than my S2. The music is superb, and the camera is awesome, the display is amazing :) The only thing I hate is the stupid unresponsible people who run Sony in Indonesia.

I made the display comparison of my xperia s with my brothers galaxy s3 at full brightness. I found those displays are the best at their own catagory like xperia s display is tack sharp with popping natural colour production and very soothing to eyes. On the contrary galaxy s3 display has nice saturated colour with infinite contrast and great viewing angle but texts are not that sharp compare to the xperia s and the white colour production has a slight bluish tint.
SPEED: Galaxy s3 has bit more speed than the xperia s except stock browser web page rendering....my xperia s running on ics 4.0.4 and has the equally same stock browser speed with the galaxy s3.
BATTERY: galaxy s3 lasts a little bit long than the xperia s with heavy use like browsing,gaming and watching movies but it is a slight difference that can b negotiable
So guys dont fight with each other. Its a simple dicission to make.......IF U HAVE THE BUDJET TO BUY GALAXY S3 THEN BUY IT.....OR IF U HAVE THE BUDJET TO BUY XPERIA S THEN BUY IT ALSO. Buying any of this handset.....U WILL NOT REGRET

Macronia, 24 Jul 2012Hey , is Scratch-resistant glass good ?? i was hoping for g... morexperia s comes with pre installed scatter proof screen protector on the top of the glass,which is very difficult to remove ,this protector is not scratch resistant,and u will start see scratches in just few days,but if u decide to remove the screen protector to enjoy the non gorilla scratch resistant glass you will risk smashing the screen if the phone fall down.
sony took a bad decision by not using the best glass in the market the gorilla glass.

And cant u see a unique design with a strip of transparent led.
It may be your bad luck that u encountered bad sale service. Please share ur location in south?
And i didnt thought 100 tyms before buying it lol..

You have your right to complain about service centers in south but please do not abuse the build quality of this cute handset. If in your opinion this is poor build quality then samsung s3 would be like a toy to you i bet. Compare this to other smart phones n u'll see why im sayin this.

Guys There is no proper After Sales support by SONY for 2012 SONY phones the NXT series and later in INDIA. Even if there is a small problem with the phone, you need to send the fone to the Service Centre in Chennai for all south INDIA. Please Think of it before you buy a sony fone.
One more thing The build Quality of the XPERIA NXT series is bad. as a XPERIA NXT series phone owner I posted this.
The Service centres through out the cities what we are having is only for SONY ERICSSON fones, and If we contact them they will send your fone to the head service office even for the smallest repair. It will take atleast 7 working days to resolve or repair a tiny issue. Even Though SONY and SONY ERICSSON is same now, they Local Authorised Service centres are eligilble to repair only the sony ericsson phones released untill 2011 but not the SONY NXT series from 2012 as of now. I donno through out the world but in INDIA The support is VERY VERY BAD for SONY NXT series fones.
Its OK if you are buying the SONY ERICSSON released untill 2011. They are having local Authorised service centres were the mobiles can get repaired.
I am Happy untill XPERIA ARC S, but not from XPERIA NXT SERIES - XPERIA S.
As sony ericsson, The mobiles are very gud. but coming to SONY they are very very bad at build quality, service, most important thing is AFTER SALES SUPPORT. SONY LACKS IN AFTER SALES SUPPORT.
Pls Think 100 times before you buy a SONY phone.
