There is no feature called WIFI DIRECT in Sony Xperia S.
I bought Sony Xperia S LT26i mobile Three months back. In mobile specification they mentioned me that wifi direct option is present with the mobile. From the next os update to ICS I can use it. But still there is no option to use to use Wifi Direct. When i contacted Sony call center they told you have that feature but you cant use it. Silly answer. Sony is unfaithful to its consumers. When i asked in Sony showroom they told me that It might be available from next updated named Jelly Bean.

Wifi Direct doesn't support only fast data transfer it also support print on the go. For this check following youtube link

Go to Sony Show room ask them to show the Demo of WIFI DIRECT.
They will tell like it used stream files to tv.
Then whats the use of DLNA

Any wifi enabled smart phone can stream video with wifi direct tv. For this wifi direct is not compulsory with mobile. Even in the below video you can find the option wifi direct in tv menu. But there is no such option like that in mobile.

advice, 11 Jul 2012of course the galaxy s3 is much better than the xperia s an... more Well.. its nice that u wan't to help others! But for that u need to have an unbiased opinion regarding the product at concern.. right?
So, u say SGS3 is better than SXS, well i say SGS3 definitely has better hardware, but SXS has better optimised android sofware/ UI as compared to samsung's buggy TW UI. SXS has better camera, screen, design/looks too, altogether giving "better End User experience" of the product as a whole. Also, go figure what problems SGS3 users are facing (at XDA dev) which are much worse than SXS!
So, imo SXS is better than SGS3! It is the user who decides what is better/best for his needs not you!
About the Camera.. How on earth would you claim that the inferior camera hardware (f2.65/f2.60) of samsung beats the superior Sony optics (f2.40) backed by Sony Exmor R sensor, not to mention the higher 12 mpix resolution! Also you must know the fact that Sony is ahead of samsung in Camera/Imaging technology. Besides, Apple 4S reportedly uses the sony camera optics/sensor too! These are some facts u should consider before making such (false) claims, as u don't own one.
Secondly, i have tested SXS camera along with both SGS3 & SGS2, and to no surprise, SXS camera quality/performance beats the other two (in overall details captured/colors rendered).
If you still don't believe me or other users, then use common sense or search the web before making such baseless claims!

Besides, I don't keep any phone with me for more than 3 months anyways. But yes there are slight chances that the phone might have been faulty. Anyways, I am not a die hard fan of any particular brand. I like a phone purchase it, use it for a while, then there is new offering in the market, i sell my old phone and purchase the new one. Money has been an issue for me but selling a phone out of disappointment is what hurts me.
