I like this phone. The only thing that's holding me back is the 'yellow screen' issue especially being in Canada. It's a bother to make returns since I can only buy this phone online.

how bad is the battery life?? i was hoping this phone can work on USA tmobile 3G but it seems is missing the 1700Mhz band. so im planing to use my current SE X10 as hotspot. so i'll be doing everything over wifi, including VoIP, whatsapp, google voice, facebook, google music, etc. how long can the battery last if wifi is on at all times even screen off??

hey guys
i just bought this mobile 2 days ago and im really like it ..
but i am facing a problem with the wifi toggle , when i press it to deactivated it will disconnect for about 5 sec and then goes to connect again without pressing the toggle . so i have press it again to shut off the wifi.
i sell out my galaxy s2 to bey this and this is not a good start .. :(
any one to help plz?

Using this Xperia S for about 2 weeks ++, great phone and upgraded my software to newer version.
However, the draw back is the Call Waiting features which this phone does not notify / indicate the other party that you are calling is on another line and we are on their call waiting list. THis is the draw back.
My Baby X10 Mini has this feature which most of the phone indeed have.
THis wont be an important function for everyone but indeed is important to me.
Others, was impressive with great screen and high resolution with powerful processor able to play FUll HD video.
However, not sure whether Jelly Bean (Android 5.0) able to support in this Xperia S.
Happy with this phone.

I planned to buy this phone frm th begining of JAN 2012.
And now i'm scared & visualizing that...i'l open the box at the store on purchase date & leave it there for the rest of the month for the display problem & as u said it'll set on a journey to travel across INDIA...aaahhh

Getting a unit with hardware defect is nothing short of curse in a country like India. First of all the sets are not carrier subsidized. Secondly we all know the expertise of the guy who sits at the service centre desk. Mobiles.are.sold in fancy stores are service iced in a shanty. First u have to identify the defect and then reproduce the same thing at the service centre and then the dumb guy at the service centre has to agree with u. Chances are really slim that all three things I just mentioned will happen. If they do happen then your handset will start an all India tour of being sent to state capital then country's capital ie dilli and then to our tech savvy Bangalore and so on. And u would be permanent unwanted guest at Sony service center. And for that matter any company's service center.

Since Sony says they have identified the reason causing the yellow tint on screen and have corrected the manufacturing process and that it is limited to a small number of handsets, it means they know almost exactly which particular lots are affected. They should make public those IMEI nos. Unless they are hoping that many customers with the defective units may not realize it since that happens over a particular temperature. They know that some users may not be using the phone extensively or may not be vigilant enough to realize the defect. That speaks volumes about the falling standards of a company that was once synonyms with quality.

I think Sony should come out clean and make public the IMEI NOS. of the phones that could possibly be affected with yellow tint on screen issue. They should replace the ones already in user hands and with hold the affected stock at distributor level. Saying it's limited to small number of handsets makes no sense. Why should the customers have guess pray or put their phones to test whether they get yellow tint once the phone heats up to 40 °c or what not? this is ridiculous.

Got da phone ....quite impresive only draw back is the battery life not more than a day hope upgrade to V.4 might sort out da issue otherwise 9/10.......;)
