This really hurts me say this, but being a seasoned Sony Ericsson user for the last 10 years, this has got to have been the worst phone I have ever owned, even worse than the K850i which I had trouble with a few years back (but music player was great though) and they gave us the truly fab W995, which although not a smartphone (and why I parted with it) gave me absolutely no trouble at all and was a killer music phone with sensational sound.
The thing that really hurts is that I really wanted to like the S as it had jaw-dropping specs and was fast when it worked.
But it has been as unreliable as sin as the phone has constantly been 'freezing' for what just started as for a few minutes started turning into a few hours. I have persevered with it but felt that enough was enough. I have now switched to the Xperia Z and all I can say up to now is so far so good.
Sony had true potential with the S, but was just a handover from the Sony Ericsson days.
Come one now, you can do better than this and the Z proves it.

Sony confirms Android 4.3 for Xperia Z series and Xperia SP
in ANDROID, FIRMWARE, SONY TABLET, XPERIA SP, XPERIA Z AND XPERIA ZL, XPERIA Z ULTRA, XPERIA ZR
JB XperiaWow, Sony is quick off the mark to officially confirm a number of Xperia devices that will be getting Android 4.3. This includes the Sony Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Tablet Z and the Xperia SP.
In an interesting twist, Sony has also confirmed that they will be upgrading some handsets directly from Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to Android 4.3. We don’t have any details on which handsets they will be, but it’s great news nonetheless.

me usin Xperia s for last 7 months.. its was gud until last week.. but rite nw am havin a huge prob.. my phone s often blinkin 4 to 5 tyms n gettin switchin off.. its happenin atleast twice a day.. my ram n internal memory s fully free.. wat do I do?? help me

It's an awesome phone,using it for almost a year now,never faced any problem.Its just so smooth...amazing,just love it :)

Finally. I Recived 6.2.B.6.0.0 in Karachi, Pakistan...
I Read Here Peopel Comments its has problem in 2G.
Any Pakistan tell me its has or Not because in Pakistan we have 2g. No 3g. Please tell me if it has any problem....

Change the network connection from WCDMA(preferred) to GSM only and you will only have 2g connection.

It's not smooth when viewing the menus, web browser, etc when the phone is in landscape.
Fine in portrait but very choppy in landscape.

2 times pcb replaced buT 2G internet,and battery drain problem even in standby not resolved by them.Too bad update for Sony's first phone after separation from ericsson.What u say??????

No one is supporting ,service center replaced motherboard 2 times but they dont understand it is JB issue.In ics it was ok.
almost 22 days my handset was in service center for same 2G issue.Too bad support by sony.Will not buy any product from sony.

I have done all settings but never had data connection on 2g. In india no widespread 3g. So please sony do something to rectify the connection on 2g. I have wasted 27000 rupees on the lazy and not responding company .

I do not understand why the jellybean update is choppy especially when scrolling through the pictures under albums. I thought project butter applied to all jb handsets. Does not seem to be the case here :(

Is there any news about the new update regarding to the bugs that was reported like the message when battery low and full hd recording? Sony said they will start rolling that on july 8 onwards but until now there's no update. Still waiting for a bug fixing update.

After the update 6.2.b.0.200 phone has improved a lot
camera clarity has increaded flash has become brighter
Graphics have improved
User interface i like like xperia z

Its very sad, i have to give my phone to the service center once again for my battery drainage problem.
Once it reaches 20% , the next min it drops down all the way down to 15
taken screen shots of the same to prove it to them.
ALso in-call volume is as good as not there...:(..
Hope my phone gets fine, or will surely have to change my preferences soon....
