mrs "G", 21 Nov 2013Is the phone really so bad after upgrading it to ics?What I can tell is after upgrade to ICS, you can enjoy more on the floating touch feature, other changes depends by the owner. For me, I don't regret for upgrade to ICS.

i am using Xperia sola since last 8 months but facing some problems as follows:
1. Slow processing hanged many times.
2. Call disconnected automatically and after disconnect network was gone for few seconds so that other party unable to contact me and give messages that my phone was switched off.
3.I am the average user of my phone.
4. Is upgrade it worthy?
Dear friends please help me in this matter any suggestions ???

I've been using this phn for 8 months and so far i hvn't faced any problem frm this phn.Idk what made some people complain about this phone, maybe they just don't like the phone or expect it to function as a higher end phone from this lower mid range phone. I'm using ics rom frm sony and in developer option(available after ics update) I toggled force 2d gpu rendering for a smooth scrolling ( this may cause some apps to be unstable like few games i haven't face with them so far though)and from background process limit I have selected as "1" to save some ram. make sure you reboot your phone once a day to clear out the cached memory. using a task killed may speed up your phone but best way to clear cached memory is rebooting but ofc that is just imo. when it comes to playing heavy games such as dead trigger 2,asphalt 7, make sure u reboot ur phn and thn select background process limit to 1 to minimize lag and to have a smoother gaming experience. battery isn't strong in this phn. With mid use (few calls, alot of txting, few web browsing and like 30mins of gaming) i manage to pull around 12-14hrs which is more thn enough for me. there is also a standby mode to extend the battery life although this feature has a bug which won't make the led notification light work properly. there is always google to find solutions for the phn's problem and also to find the way to get the maximum use of the phone.

Till update was mid grade, after upgrade - i dont use it anymore, lot of bugs - it can become very slow, till restarts itself, it can call without showing who is callinga and without posibility to answer, also another random minor glitches like delays in scrolling. Can't sugest it. Camera in dark is unusable.

Everyone should update to the unofficial jelly bean firmware. The most stable rom i ever flash. Untouched rom. Non modified. Port from sony xperia go. The custom kernel is great in battery life. Still dont encounter any bug. They also provide bug fix. Trust me. This is the best rom i ever flash. Thanks to munjeni(developer)for your hardwork.

i have bought one sony xperia sola mobile from singapore. the battery of the mobile is not working. i have tried with many sony outlets in kolkata and their reply is any sony mobile purchased outside india will not be serviced in india and as such i am unable to change the battery.

after the 4.0 ics update the phone is terrible. horrible battery life, lag all over the place and freezes randomly. dont buy it, the meager amount of ram ruines the phone. the thing has srsly managed to piss me off. never buy anything from sony, as they obviously cant be bothered to update and fix the software of their older models. 4 out of 10.

After the upgrade to ICS, this phone is absolutely unusable, and Sony doesn't bother releasing updates to fix the serious problems (especially low ram). I will never buy a Sony smartphone again

Is ... moreHi,i upgraded to version:2.3.7..Charging lasts about 1 hour and has a 16 hours performanse(from 8 to 24) Using long hours of whatsapp,about 1,5 hour talking and some light programs. Using GreenPower. It shuts the internet signal scheduled by you. Must use program for all phones..

Can some please tell me exactly about the battery life? Is it really worst or average? I am an average user. If mobile data always enable it can last for how long? Ang how about charging? Is it fast?
