I really like this phone, 5gb user memory + microsd slot, bravia engine, floating touch, and stereo speakers. wait, uh.. where is the stereo speakers by the way? and is 512 mb enough ram for this dual core beast. well its just like the iphone4s but its android, so what you guys think?
by the way i have live with walkman and planning to upgrade to this by september.

AnonD-13154, 19 Mar 2012No. Sony confirmed that they wont be pulling out quad core ... moreYa I know that buddy (a higher Sony official had said this in his interview with gsmarena that quad-core phones are pointless as two extra cores will just act as a battery drainer) but I m a hardcore Sony fan and know that quad-cores phones are waste but yet I want Sony to be on par with the competition because that's what people want nowadays, they want their phone to be latest and no one sees the actual facts. Sony needs to gearup things now because so many fans like me are waiting miracles from Sony and f**k-off all the companies......

Venkat89, 20 Mar 2012What's your source for this information?About 1-2 month ago, the roadmap of the entire lineup of Sony's 2012 phones with indian pricing, had leaked. Also the most expensive phone was shown costing about a whopping INR36,500 (xperia Mint) and another was costing INR31,500 (xperia hayabusa, these r the pre-launch codenames though). So don't take Xperia S (INR29,500) as the flagship device of Sony.

worthless floating touch, imho. i watched a demo, and your fingers would have to be like 0.5 cm away from the screen before the phone would react. rather touch the screen than have to watch your fingers out for the right distance.

Since even dual core apps are few and there is no real need of quad core. They also said that as of now, the quad core models are way drainy in battery and they are ready to wait until their work on optimising the battery performance from lower battery sizes is cmpleted and are in no hurry to blindly join the quad core race.
By the way, r u der in m9?

It wont be a problem at all.
In my reasearch, even though they had fewer mah than galaxy, optimus and such phones, its the xperia droids that run longer.
I dont know how is sony managing it but, they uses lower mah batteries and run the same ram, display size, ghz phones longer than galaxies and others of the same range.
I think they optimise the droid os in some way that they use the least energy than others. May be thats the reason why the xperia ics update hasnt yet rolled out.
