I bought Sola 4 months ago, It was the worst phone I got.
- I haven't received ICS upgrade till the moment.
- slow response.
- phone stops responding many times, and had to force shut down.
- many time, trying to call but the screen hangs out and I have to wait for a minute to make a call.
- there is a lock screen widget for media player that sometimes plays by it self, I'm trying to find a way to disable it.
- battery never teach the end of day.
Don't bye this phone.

Xperia Sola and Xperia J are kind of the same, the only difference is the screen size and the video quality. If you think that having HD video capturing capability the phone becomes awesome, then its wrong. If you really want to shoot videos than you can go on and buy a handy cam with far better quality. Even i have the xperia Sola but im not happy with its processing speed and battery backup, if u use that phone normally in a day you might have to charge it twice or thrice daily and without using it you will have to charge it daily. It has got the worst battery backup which will really annoy you. So in my opinion if you are confused between Sola and J then you should probably go for J becoz its design is better and its battery backup is way better. So please dont go with the HD stuff its just diverting, you can go with the Canvas HD ive come across that phone :) and its a good and fast processor phone. And if you really want to buy a phone which comes in the range of J and Sola then you can go for Samsung I8552 Galaxy Quattro, HTC Desire XDS, LG optimus L7 II P715 or Canvas HD A116

My Last phone was the HTC Legend which by now was showing serious strain (600Mhz & 384Ram). As I had almost everything on the SD card and wanted a relatively small phone and cheap phone the Sony Sola fitted the profile.
All i can say, in comparison to the HTC the Sony is very poor phone. Poor battery life, bad phone book, limited home screens, sony crap ware, nfc not working, camera button not working, unresponsive (home, back and list) buttons are just few of the features that plague this phone. Not mentioning the locking and resetting of the phone when users use's the browser/apps for too long.
Were it not for the fact that i spent 8hrs rooting, deleting crap ware and setting up the phone i wold have gone back to my HTC in an instance.
If you are looking for a small but powerful phone please look else where.

Best mob in it's class&price range.
pros:
led display
3.7"
8gb internal memory
5mp cam with HD vid recording
rigid built quality
cons:
hdmi or mhl or atleast tv out
low ram
low clock rate
poor design
low talk time
non removable, low capacity battery
no li po battery
no front facing cam.
am using it fr 3 months...
above all cons r improved, then it's best mob..
a phone with above all pros+exmor r, micro hdmi port, removable 1760mAh, similar to arc s-design...
& my suggestion is name d mob as Xperia mercury.
