Updated my sp to 4.3,but it starts lagging which is unusual for this phone.But after hard resetting it back to high performance with no lagging.Do buy this phone...highly recommended.

But there is a lot of... moreI agree that this phone has an average camera and 4.3 update has some issues.......but this does not mean that the phone is bad for its price......i got it for 23k and its good enough value for money even at that price.....basically we are finding ourselves annoyed by this phone because sony first took its own sweet time releasing the update and we have not yet received the fruit of patience......when i bought my phone i only wanted superfast performance and a good display.....the latter is good, now if only sony releases that new firmware soon.....

Xperia SP isn't a bad phone - the 4.3 update is! Phone does not look cheap or feel cheap either and is metal not plastic. Camera is average to good - remember this is no flagship. Processing power is awesome for dual core and the adreno 320 plays games lag free. Problems with asphalt 8 are due to Gameloft as latest version even lags on nexus 5 which uses adreno 330 and has near enough 2.3ghz quad core - just look on YouTube for previous versions of asphalt 8 running smooth on xperia sp. If you can't afford a nexus 5 then xperia sp is the next best phone in my opinion.

First of all, have you ever played asphalt 8 on an xperia sp?? If yes, then I wondered why you're sp lagged, because it works perfectly fine on my sp.
Your next point, "sony is cheating", can you tell me how do you define poor?? Because xperia sp has the best gpu (adreno 320) in its range,(show me a phone under 20k giving adreno 320), it has the "best dual core processor" i.e the krait 1.7 ghz on snapdragon s4 pro chipset, and just in case you told that the mega pixels don't define the quality of images, exactly does the number of cores, dual core qualcomm processors are much better than quad core mediatek processor usually seen on samsung and micromax devices(especially your canvas turbo lol), now is that what you call poor?
Then you were wrong about the gorilla glass, xperia sp does have a gorilla glass and the lcd screen isn't an issue though, because its 720p screen giving 319 ppi gives an amazing display
One thing i have to accept that it does have a vga front camera which is an issue for SOME and sony isn't cheating about it(cuz they have clearly printed on their specs sheet, so buy if you want)
You were very right when you said that we can't judge the camera just on the number of pixels,but according to reviews and my personal experience it is a fairly decent 8mp shooter, and its better then the Micromax canvas turbo (because the canvas turbo is having 15mp for name sake, lol) and one more thing, dslr cannot be replaced by mobo phones, no phone(atleast in 2014) can give you dslr like images.

Adds more charm to the phone, and its definitely a good buy
Now you brush up your knowledge and think twice before giving your opinion on sony phones

Sony is cheating customers by giving such a poor quality product at a high cost. You paid 17k only for the name " XPERIA ", even it doesnt have a good front camera, good processor, IPS LCD screen, gorilla glass and many more . We cant judge the quality of a camera by the mega pixels. You dont have to purchase a DSLR to get good pics. Just choose a phone with good camera, not an Xperia SP. Even micromax ( Canvas Turbo) gives 13 MP main camera and 5 MP front camera for 15k.
Front camera is not to take selfies. It s main use is for video calling. VGA is an outdated technology. One would be a fool to pay 17k for VGA, TFT with ordinary glass.
THINK TWICE OR TEN TIMES BEFORE CHOOSE THIS PRODUCT.
Mahesh seems to be a sony agent or frustrated owner of Xperia. Don't trust such manipulated reviews.

Hello people,I bought this phone 2 days ago and it's great but there is something that i noticed; there is no "My xperia" in settings, xperia which is responsible for locating my phone over GPS.
Am i supposed to do something to show my xperia in my phone or it's missing setting in xperia SP in general????
Also, the lighting feature works fine when ringing or calling but it's not working when there is a missed call or unread sms. how to fix this issue?

sankha87, 25 Mar 2014While calling I am not being able to access the internet.or... moreWhen you r on a call (incoming or outgoing) the phone disconnects the internet if u r using the net via sim card. When u use net via Wifi u wont face this problem as the net is connected to the phone from a source other than simcard. Also note that while using the net via wifi, u wont be able to type n e thing as the keypad becomes inactive during the calls. Dont know whether these 2 points r boon or ban.
