According to this article Sony confirmed that the Xperia Z2 and SP will be first to receive the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update.

Multi-touch is not quite good while charging and you will probably see your screen to freeze and fade out (brownish to full black) for about 3 seconds.
Xperia SP is great phone, amazing hardware specs, but software is terrible. Camera sensor is the same on Xperia L, but that noise and colors on SP's pictures are just sad to look at. Hope to see bug-free and optimized android with 4.4 update.

I think problem with SP's Hardware Not software. Same issue with the charger comes with SP. Its taking 3+ hours to charge completely.

arun, 30 Jul 2014there is no 1 GB RAM only 768 MB is available for me1 GB is the total memory, while 786MB is the user available memory. Rest 242MB is reserved for processing of the phone.

Sony had said they will release kitkat for xperia sp in july 2014 in order to their leaked roadmaps. its 31 of july today. what they are doing?? dont they know we are very waiting for kitkat???????......

Why don't you correct this mistake on android 4.4????, this phone didn't get kitkat (4.4) it's under investigation
