Had mine for 2 years been very happy, now battery life is getting shorter and the new puppy has chewed the usb charge lead so looking at Sony M5

Last night I backed up and did software repair with Sony xperia suite (or what thay call it nowdays). Restored contacts and sms. Phone works perfectly on android 4.3
, no legging, crashing. Installed shitload of apps and still no problems.

Really good phone with this combination - unlocked bootloader - CM13 android 6.0.1 - helium v20 kernel - overclock cpu 1.8 GHz & gpu 480 MHz = now is flying :)

It's quite a good phone the only disadvantage is that it doesn't connect to all wifi connections and it's front camera is really bad. Other than that it is an awesome phone, it was perfect for the first 2 years , then I started having issues but that quite good for a 15k sony mobile phone.

Dont give you ears to any bloody haters of sony. Its the best phone I have ever used under 15k that too a sony branded one.

The phone is not at all recommended. Hangs up frequently, poor performance with the internet connection. The picture quality is also not comparable to samsung. The front camera is really pathetic.

Xperia sp is old, it goes overheat sometimes but you can play games for hours and battery is good, i think opinions may vary from peeps but if you want to play few games like mortal kombat x dead trigger 2 sas zombie assault, listen music the whole day, take a picture casually you gonna love this phone, people complaining about the camera and unnecessary wanting ultra hd photos for a low price should be quiet and instrad put the money and buy xperia z3, samsung s5 or else get a damm professional camera!
Sent from my 2 years old rooted xperia sp not even 4g but having a big @ss led, nice camera, still on jellybean, hd games instaled, lots of emulators and roms, kinda heating due to writin but listening to music in bluetooth big @ss speakers!

Gpu is still better than then most in these days: most of phone now are using Mali-450MP4
which is worse then andreno 320 used on this phone.
Cpu even is dual core,it was a higher frequency(1,7 compared to most of the phones that are using 1,2 or 1,4) and the krait chipset stick rocks!
I'm using cumstom 6.0.1 on this phone and i can tell you it's not laggie at all!
I also have a huawei p8 lite with octa core,2gb ram and mali-450mp4 and games are laggier than xperia sp :)

For the price, at that time back in 2013, this is a great Phone. Had a problem with my battery, but then it was replaced within the guareten :-)

I am used this phone about 3 years but the camera is at that time is good but today this is the worst camera...as compare to other today available models but now this is outdated, and my 3 years baby is also not liked to this one ...ha...hha...

If you really take time to read its specs, it is obvious of course that it already has an OUTDATED chipset, gpu, cpu, camera, etc compared from today's. If u wanted to really use this phone, then root it.
I have this phone, the problems that I have are only lagging, tho it hangs but not all the time, some apps are not compatible, and sometimes it crash. Nevertheless it is a solid phone, I have thrown it on the road, into the pool, on the wall and smashed a cemented block on it. It cracked the screen but it is still functional.
