Back cover pops open for access to battery/sd card/simcard.
Battery is the Sony BA700 can find lots of them on Amazon/Ebay.
1.5 years using this little gem and still quick and better spec wise than average phones out there.
I really recommend buying from KyoEx.

Anyone know what the highest version of Android that this supports is? And if the battery is replaceable? Given the size and specifications I'd be quite interested to have a go at importing one of these so long as it's not going to be stuck running an obsolete version of the OS with a ruined and irreplaceable battery...

17 months on.. and still... Dame perfect phone if there is such a thing! I dropped it and there is a little dent on the frame, which really frustrates and upsets me... I would love to get it exchanged with a new SX. Looks a really professional device.

This is the phone that Sony forgot to release internationally. I would of purchased it the first day it went to market if it had the correct bands for Australia. I would still buy it today if it was released. this phone with KitKat would fill a huge hole in the market for a small but powerful phone. Wake up Sony! your new "compact" is too big.

I have got the sx, its the perfect size, and light. Wish more phones where this size. Its a fast and with 850Mb of user ram, so its good enough to use as a daily driver. The screen is very sharp with good color reproduction. Only issue is the cpu drains the battery when its at 100% load, you can get around this with rooting. Its a discontinued product with the Z1f replacing it, but Z1f is as big as a galaxy s2, 127mm x 64.9mm x 9.4mm, so its not small.
