Benchmark put it higher than the ONE X which is pretty impressive it also bnched higher than the TF Prime so...

So I got this phone on Saturday 29th September and I have to say I am very impressed already, I had heard some bad reports about the Xperia S being quite an unrealiable handset, so I was apprehensive but the current choice of 'new phones' on the handset and 'existing offers' (Galaxy SIII, Galaxy Note II, Moto Razr i, HTC ONEX) did me no favours, in brief, I love it.

Feel and ease of phone - 10, everything seems to have seemless integration

Look - Easily an 8, in keeping with the very sleek Xperia feel, the body is mostly glass, with a rugged but rather tacky looking plastic back), the slight curvature makes it interesting though and help the look of the phone a lot. The TFT screen is absolutely stunning, I am really impressed.

Apps and Features - 10, All the helpfulness of an Android based phone with some Sony touches, like wireless transfer enabled software suites (despite wireless syncing music and video being terribly slow over a 30mb fibre optic broadband connection.) Smart TV Media Remote, NFC etc.

Battery Life - 4, I wasn't expecting a lot, maybe 10 hours intense "first time messing around" use but after being on sleep in my pocket most of the day at work, I went from 100% battery at 8am this morning after a full charge to 37% at 9pm, it's not terrible, you definitely wouldn't need to charge it more than once a day but does drain it quickly. Recommend using the "adaptive" brightness that sets brightness to light levels in the room as far as I can tell.

Price - This phone is relatively cheap to obtain handset free on many contracts in the UK already, the handset retails for around £400 and is up there with your SII in terms of price, but would be an interesting purchase for anyone who is yet to try an Xperia but might lean towards an more traditional choices such as the HTC One family, the Galaxy range and an Iphone ;)

Overall - 7 - Very impressive attempt Sony, you have made a very sleek, smart, smart-phone that is only really let down by it's power-hungry self and your average attempt at making a suitable plastic backing.

AnonD-72882, 01 Oct 2012sony phones=poor batteries, inferior display, and why do the... moreking wicked = knows nothing about smartphones.
Xperia T battery is very good ( check gsmarena r\v).
Display is fantastic ( go check it your self in the store and compare the display to sgs3 and one x in the store).
Design wise, sony is unbeatable in my opinion (by the end of the day design is subjective, people have diffrent taste).

If the screen is tft, it means that the xperia u screen is better because it's lcd. Am I right?

Dom H, 30 Sep 2012Thanks. Can you use QWERTY in landscape when texting?Yes ofcors, but you would not want to use landscape, even on much smaller screens, like 3.5 inch, its faster to type in portrait mode.

PLease tell me frankly your experience after buying the phone. I read on Xperia Blog that the display is all washed out compared to Xperia Ion. Meaning display is inferior?
