I have been using this phone since 3 weeks.
The phone is quite impressive in gaming and app performance. TempleRun is playable without any lag.
There are few bugs in the software, media files in memory card are unrecognized by gallery and music player if we try to open them with astro file manager, s if you want to keep your library updated with all meidia files, do not use astro file manager. The light for home back and options button will be on only for 10 seconds, then you cant find them in dark. There is no ambient light sensor.
If you are a budget buyer i strongly recommend you to buy this phone... Performance wise this phone never lags for me, I played templerun and ski surfing parallely without any lag...

AnonD-69979, 16 Oct 2012You mean in the DCIM folder I will add a new folder which f... moreNo no, what i meant is you need to make some of your media files can't be visible or read by the stock gallery viewer so the phone will not create their thumb pics in thumbnails folder... I think it's more simple if I suggest you to install QuickPic app from Google Store - open Play Store select Sony and look for this app. With this app you can easily move some photos from DCIM to different folders outside DCIM then make the files inside not visible or hidden. Once it's hidden the thumbnails will be removed from thumbnails folder.

Though at it's price range, I still prefer the DEFY Mini. Basically exactly the same as the Tipo, only it came out in February. Same screen, cpu, gpu and RAM. Only the DEFY has Gorilla glass, is resistant to sand, dust and water, has a bigger battery and has camera flash. Even with the bigger battery, Moto clocked the cpu to 600MHz, to make the battery last longer. It's recommended manufacturer clock speed is between 600MHz and 1GHz, so both phones can be safely overclocked, but it will of course affect battery life.

Im I right?

You can reduce the amount of thumb pics in this folder by using multi media app that provide hidden files or folders option, for gallery viewer you can use QuickPic from Play Store and MX video players to hide video file previews. Or you can manually move some media files to different folders than add .nomedia file in those folders to prevent the phone keeps their thumbnails permanently in thumbnails folder.

I think maybe your device has a factory defect or a software problem. You should go to SONY so that they will fix it or upgrade its software(up to date). Never encountered your problems in my phone. My tipo works fine good as new, no major problems encounter like your and Its already 1 month+ old.

Combine both of them and you can play flash content. I even play flash games from flash game sites. Games with 360p and lower resolution works fine. Although it depends on the connection (Im using wifi).

Can I ask? this is my 3rd android phone and the 1st to have high internal memory (almost 2G). Im wondering why in my internal storage (DCIM-thumbnail folder) theirs a thumbnail data which is sbout 940mb+ and when I delete it, It keeps coming back, anyone knows about this?. I never encountered this on my previous phones which has low internal memory. I got worth 900mb + pictures and videos on my internal + 940mb+ thumbnail data( which consumes a lot of storage). Is their a solution for this? or any tweaks to be altered in the settings so that the thumbnail data will be transferred? or be deleted forever?
