Smartphones have bigger processor, bigger ram, and bigger battery compared to ordinary phones. So if a budget non-smartphone have gorilla glass, that's normal since the production cost of those phones are low.

Frndzz i have something for you all. According to the user guide of xperia tipo there is a plastic covering on the screen for its protection and we have to take it off first so that the touch screen responds properly. If we do not do that touch screen will lag sometime or will not respond good enough. I think the websites that have reviewed tipo and are saying that it has a laggy touchscreen might have used tipo with that plastic covering on. And please do read the guide carefully before making any sort of comment.You will find it in page no 15 of the user guide. Another gud news tipo has led notifications too that tells the status of battery, messages any app needing an update etc. You will find the same in the guide only.interesting though the guide says that this phone has an ambient light sensor too. But i think its misprinted. well never matter. Xperia tipo is better contender at least for htc explorer, desire c or galaxy y and pocket. Gud days frndzz. Hope my info helps u all

Sony is the only company to give ics to most of its handsets. samsung may be at the top currently but its not taking care of its users well. Euen awesome handsets like galaxy s and s+ haven't received ics. This is enought to say that only sony is taking care of its users. Most of the companies are giving ics to high end sets only and sony has given it to all capable handsets. all those who are voting for explorer here should keep in mind that its not going to get ics. so stop saying that its better. nobody is going to prefer it above the tipo.

For this price tag this phone is amazing, and atleast for me the battery life is great. Almost a 4 days, with normal using, (few whatasup messages etc). Suberb entry level phone.

even it has 1500 mah, talktime is only 4 hours....!!!I think htc explorer is better than this...(6 hour-1200mah)

I like this entry level smartphone....it's much better than explorer and ace...in terms of internal memory and RAM...ace has only 290 mb of RAM...!!!!****!!!so we can't expect any multitasking from ace.....
but the worst ...thing about tipo is it's low battery life,bad touch...and huge size of my grandma's radio....!!!!!
in conclusion...it's a good smartphone for a new android users....if u have an extra bucks...go for live with walkman....thanx..

agm, 27 Aug 2012it is not 129 euro it is 129 pound so it is high pricedactually its only £89 In carphone warehouse and just £69 upgrade. Its arm 6 adreno 200 so its a no frills phone like galaxy y etc etc! Better buy than desire c which is overpriced!

Gorilla Glass makes the phone more expensive. So they only use those type of glass in midrange devices and higher.
This phone use ordinary glass.
