Karthi, 09 Jan 2013Its a waste phone, it have network problem. most of the tim... moreThat seems to be referring to a VERY out of date firmware. 564 is generally considered most stable if sticking with Gingerbread. It's just a shame that Sony seem to have pulled the Gingerbread updates from their servers now ICS is out (considering they are cautious about recommending upgrade), though ICS isn't as bad as a lot of people make out.
Anyway, certainly not a bad phone, and if you set things up appropriately and have fair signal, you should get 2 or more days per charge unless you are using it constantly, in which case "laws of physics" apply :)

Its a waste phone, it have network problem. most of the time while calling phone show as there is no network. but in that place network range is too good. Battery life is too low. per day u need to charge it twice. even though i use the phone rarelly battery condition is like this, if i start using it more then ????????????
google search as "sony xperia u network issue " u will came to know about it.
Main purpose of the phone is to dial and receive calls for that itself this phone has problem. they y we need it for other use

Possible some markets don't include it, though. Would be nice to get rid of it, it's horrendous bloatware and memory hog, even when not logged in or doing anything useful. Be glad you don't have it.

However as with all phones there can be duds; a few people are reporting issues, which will be a hardware fault so you would need to return to seller or Sony Service Centre for repair or replacement.

Any performance improvements in this new firmware are merely optimisations of ICS against Sony's hardware and not Project Butter.

and after updating. I d... moreWell yes, unless you're living in Croatia or Slovakia you have to flash newest version of sony firmwire. It's T-mobile firmwire (it have T-mobile startup logo and silly app web'n'walk) but these things can be removed easily.
There is no other way of getting C.1.10 version via PC companion or SUS except flashing (this firmwire is only available in Croatia and Slovakia by Sony Update System or PC Companion).
Btw, Xperia U with latest ICS firmware is commonly known as 'project butter' cause of slickness and performance it has ;)

I dont like this phone because it has just 8GB memory and just 4GB for users and no memory card slot
