Yes it's narrow, but it makes for nice slim phone, and you have T9 keypad option in portrait mode. SAR of 1.09 is very average for smartphone class, and less than iPhone 4S anyway.

humel, 26 Sep 2012Xperia U or Live Walkman ???My advice is live with walkman, ics update fixed also for live, single core but adreno 205 is equal to malu 400 in nova Thor, single core did pretty so well in live with walkman, no problems in software as x u, loudest hands-free and loudspeaker, same camera , up to 32gb micro sd without any glitch!! Go forxu if you can go with 4gb for apps which is impossible in android or even others, dual core and larger screen but narrow is terrible and sar value is pretty high!!

Hi there! Did you have same problem like this:
My XU has a problem in sending message, it keeps on sending but the message was not sent. My network/signal is ok and i also restart may phone many times. Sadly, it happens sometimes in the evening.. Pls comment if you also experience this. Thanks in advance!

This is a mobile forum not ruddy cancer research. Yes sar is high! If you dont like it then go winge somewhere else. Heard enough of this rubbish! If it wasnt leagal then xu wouldnt be sold. GET OVER IT!

International (Euro) SAR is 1.22W/kg (10g) - legal limit 2.0

I'm absolutely no optimistic to see in near future a device made by Sony with a SAR value less than 1,3W/kg! Is it so difficult to change the place of internal antenna to another safety place …
The last good device of that "related"company was T39m by Ericsson.

Then it matt... moreYes, the XU's body SAR is a bit higher than some competitors, but all are well within the legal limits which are designed with considerable safety margins in mind. Any issue with that should be taken up with the FCC. N.B. Keeping your phone in your pocket does not subject you to that radiation on a constant basis - yes, you may get a short burst when the phone rings, but unless you use Bluetooth, you're still going to get more radiation through your head during an actual call.

Its like saying ur kitchen microwave is perfectly safe-untill u stick ur head in it and turn it on! Im not saying u will die from radiation sickness,nevertheless i wouldnt stake my nutts and future children on that bet. No mather what u say we are alredy exposed to so much EM radiation from all over that sticking something like this phone with double SAR then its rivals in ur pocket is just stupid.

AnonD-43186, 25 Sep 2012i think standby time is wrongly mentioned as per sony's off... moreAll official specs, white paper etc say 472h is for UMTS i.e. 3G. It may seem surprising, but with optimal signal, 3G is more energy efficient than 2G in standby.
Of course all academic, since the reality is more like about a tenth of what they say!

i think standby time is wrongly mentioned as per sony's official site. i think it's 472 hrs for 2g.
