Hey..Guys.. I bought this phone 15 days before and Im writing this after using this phone...
Sony xperia U is the great phone..have all features you..peoples complaining about memory size..but before complain ppl shoud know this>>>
It has total of 8GB memory. -->
* 2 GB System Reserved (for OS)
* 2 GB for applications (you can install a lot of apps)
* 4 GB (3.7 GB to be exact) --> user accessible (you can store anything u want: songs, photos, videos etc)
So I think its sufficient..if you manage your phone in better way..and this can be overcomed over all features this phone have got...and this phone is many times better than ace duos plus..samsung shit!! :DD
having nearly same price..
SO I WILL RECOMMAND YOU THIS PHONE AFTER HAVING EXPERIENCE ON THIS PHONE...HOPE THIS HELPS

AnonD-61113, 11 Jul 2012hey do any one know how to install zip files in xperia u If you are talking about installing zip files, download Astro File Manager and store the zip file in a specific folder under the 'sdcard' option. Now, open the zip file folder, long press the item of choice and 'move' it to any other place of your choice. After that, just directly install it by clicking the item.

I have had this phone for close to 3 weeks now, and the only problem I face is that it freezes sometimes, be it the camera or the music player, but apart from that, it's worth every buck that you spend. And about the heating problem, most of the Android devices tend to heat up pretty soon indeed. Looks great, feels great, just go for it guys if you don't mind the 4 gb memory.

Hi! There is another mid level android device which is better than sony xperia u:
I think that you should Buy Galaxy Ace 2 rather than the xperia u (I am currently using both of the phones.) Why? Well, here are the reasons:
Samsung galaxy Ace 2:
1.Bigger screen size
2.A micro SD slot.
3.More RAM
4.Near field Communication NFC chip
5.Great Battery - Lasts you all day
6. Samsung's Touchwiz is so much better than sony's Timescape UI
7.Better Bluetooth
8.Slimmer than xperia u
And now, let's take a look at what xperia u really beats the ace 2 at:
1.Design: No competition here. xperia U has the upper hand in here. It's one of the most coolest i've ever seen.
2.Display: Ditto. Xperia U is better cause of high pixel density, altough it isn't a much of a difference, but oh well.
3.Sensors: Xperia U. 10/10
4.It has better audio and ics outta box.
And it ends here, the xperia U advantage. I missed the processing power you said? Ah, but it's not a biggie. ace 2 has more RAM, less MHz and xperia u has less ram, more MHz. So, it's quite even, if you ask me. (P.S: The root for ace 2 is already out, and after you root it, u can overclock it to almost GHz without over heating it, which is , believe me super awesome!!)
SO, this concludes my comparison, folks. And there you go: The galaxy ace 2 has the double of reasons to suceed than xperia u. And hey, xperia u is a an awesome phone too.
So, if you want design with all the sensors and better screen quality go for xperia U, or if you want a bigger,faster device with nfc and better bluetooth and other various advanced functions, go for the ace 2!!

Mdsr, 13 Jul 2012Just purchased it an hour ago. Loving it. typing is feeling... moreWon't suit everyone, but note there is an option to use the T9 type keypad in portrait mode. It's responsive enough to be not much slower than using the full keyboard in landscape mode.

Just purchased it an hour ago. Loving it. typing is feeling bit hard as the phone is short on the horizontal side. Its tall enough though
