I just updated my firmware to 6.0.B.3.162
I can see overall performance improvement
- No more lag rendering the home screen when press home after long browsing session or heavy game (specially the media button)
- Camera shutter key and camera startup improved (no improvement in image quality.
- I can see a bar code reader (Neo Reader) not sure if this was exists before the update or not.
- I can see more free memory (RAM) even with the same programs running as before
I expected a battery and loud speaker improvement but look like no changes in this area
Overall this is a performance enhancement update and I appreciate the results, I was so disappointed with the lag everytime i press home from the browser... thanks sony :)

can anyone tell me how to remove this update nortification of 6.0.B.1.564 from the ph.... but ut can only be updated using a 3g connection or wifi

i bought this phone 3 days back. this s simply amazing .
->very smooth touch..
->no lag even with 3 apps running..
->good camera quality..
->good music output ..better through ear phones..
->very good video output.. (bravia engine is there)
->memory not at all issue.. i have more than 225 songs .. 3 hd videos.. 2.2 gb free out of 4 gb .. and nearly 25 apps ..1.59 gb free out of 2 gb.. waiting for the otg cable ..
->internet speed ,downloads, awesome..
->very good crystal clear display..
->quick charging capability..
->bright flash..
->decent front cam..
->very handy to use.. nice grip .. good looks..
->battery lasts a day with more usage.. requires frequent charging ...it is common in andriod phones... :)
the only small issue is.. volume of the speakers would be better if it is louder..(not so bad)..i havn't experienced any difficulty with that..
on the whole.. very much satisfied with this great buy..
->if u are in a decision to buy below 20k.. this would be the best choice ever..

Talk about the battery performance.. we all know that sony have great display capabilities among others brand.. bravia engine (sure u can turn off bravia engine, but not too much difference), 16 million colours, the gpu, etc. Not just sony, every android phone have trouble with the battery performance.
But if u want android phone with realible battery performance, choose another brand, with no bravia engine, no gpu, no 16 million colour display, just 262k colour. sure it will give u more long battery duration.
U must choose first, which one do u want? the battery, or the powerful performance.. u want powerful performance, then the battery performance will poor as the compensation.. u want phone with long battery, u must forget the powerful performance.. there's no such thing as powerful performance and powerful battery, that's just theory.

Is in the same price range.... moreNeo V is nice option, it more cheap 5 usd here compare with xperia U.. but me personally, more prefer to ray, cause the dimension.. i like compact dimension that not too big.. but if u like bigger screen, go for neo v.. it's up to consumen, what phone they want.. free to choose.
Talk about xperia U same price range phone.. i would like to have htc one v, more expensive 20 usd compare with xperia U. I'm not htc boy, i'm only curious because i never own htc phone before.. haha.. sony phone, include sony ericsson phone, i already taste many of them before.

rihan, 26 Jun 2012no you can't install it in the external memory...use ""App2Sd"" applicatn frm android market...there are very less apps that cannot be transferred to extrnal memory...

You turn it on by holding the top right button, then it powers up in a few seconds. First time it can take a bit longer. You turn it off by holding the button again, then it pops up a message that you tap to confirm.
