Tann Hauser, 07 Feb 2017Well, assuming you owned every for at least 2.5 years for y... moreYou assume too much and assume wrong...there are multiple smartphones owned and maintained by me, which is no business of yours nor do I choose to tell you.
And if you read my comment correctly, I stated phones, not smartphones. Meaning I have even more phones owned and maintained by me.
Most phones that I have owned, including smartphones, had battery life well over 2.5 years.
If I remember correctly, you have been bragging about your Z1 with 3 years plus running its original battery. No qnovo on a Z1.
So my vast experience is indeed award winning stuff as you so politlely stated before. Well it is, compared to you anyway.
In my country, Z1 owners are usually 13/14/15 year old kids, due to parents only trusting them with an old, cheap phone. Probably the same in the USA where you immigrated to.

Chubby little cheap looking phone on the outside, normally I only want and use phones that look premium, but the X Compact has something special about it, a unique 'X-factor' or something haha. On the inside it can definitely compete with flagships like S7, HTC 10 in the performance department and those phones are almost twice as expensive as the X Compact where I live (Netherlands). I've got it for 330 Euro (430 minus 100 cashback promotion). The S7 is 610 euro, HTC 10 is 630 euro and XZ is 650 euro.
I've compared X Compact with my Galaxy S6 and the X Compact is consistently faster with web browsing and opening apps. Gaming also goes really smooth. Camera is really great also in low light, the laser auto focus does his job really well. Battery life I get around 7 to 8 hours of SOT on a full charge and standby is superb too. With S6 I got around 3h screen-on-time.. I still have the S6 but I pick up the X Compact all the time for browsing, youtube, gaming and social media apps because of the faster performance and comfortable one handed usability. The Sony X Compact also runs on Nougat, and the S6 still has no sign of that update yet. Yeah, they say in the first half of 2017 so Nougat can also arrive in May or July even pfff... Samsung not good anymore for me, now I'm a Sony fanboy :) They really know how to optimize software for smooth operation and great performance.

Honestly i am impressed, my first xperia phone is x compact and i really impressed
I used before a couple of samsungs, iphone 5s, many htc..but never xperia, but my wife got me this lovely mobile
I am surprised with the camera, performance and how easy to take a screenshots, nice widgets also but not like htc regarding this, and particulary the spectacular battery life on this xperia, this is the best mobile i ever used regarding battery
I have only very few comments, first it is a very thick mobile, i am not used to such a chunky body in my hand,
Second, xperia is a bit like iphone in the issue of lack of customisation of themes, fonts and so on, it is not like htc and samsung regarding this
But overall, i can say that really xperia is the best android mobile i ever used, sure the best, go get it guys, it is a very very good handset

Purchase it just becoz it has 64GB internal memory & for sports. I had over-looked that it is without ANT+ Support.
GPS is not as stable as my previous Z5 Dual & Z3c.
Put it aside already.

Senthex, 06 Feb 2017Too expensive for that hardware lineup. My Xiaomi Redmi Not... moreWhat's wrong with its hardware?? Did you use this smartphone, it is super fast no lags, consider it has better chipset and ram, don't think that it is going to be better, not at all, there is something called efficiency, the snapdragon 650 and the 3 GB of ram are sufficient to power this smartphone perfectly, so what do you want??

Too expensive for that hardware lineup. My Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 pro has much better hardware for less money, just to give an example. Dont get tricked by the Smartphone industry giants like Sony or Samsung. Their smartphones in the low-up budget range are not worth the money!

Its the most comprehensive data base on present battery tech tests, problems and solutions....
After reading that, its just ones personal choice not to believe in their solution....which actually works.
So no matter, if one choses not to believe in qnovo....let him enjoy fast degrading batteries of their other brand phones....
Its their choice afterall...

Qnovo is a new teh from a company in California and Sony only uses it. And its only useful if someone has a regular life time table. If you useage time changes, then qnovo is useless. Plus there are numerous other battery techs out now, including qualcomm ver4.0. But qnovo is not proven yet, although its looking good.

Anonymous, 05 Feb 2017Qnovo technology is only new in phones and yet to be proven... moreNot believing in the feature is entirely your problem fella.
Nothing has to be proven, its in the specs and stated so on Sonys site....
So it is as it is....Xperia X series has double the battery life span than any other brand.
I could as easily say for ex, I dont believe any new SMI battery will not burn, as it has yet to be proven they will not.

Battery of X Compact starts losing its capacity only after 2 years of usage exactly.
So, you can be cool with Xperia battery for at least 4 years...

To increase the speaker volume you can go to Settings > Audio Settings > Sound effects > Equaliser Custom > Drag all sliders up to +10. It works much better than than Clear Audio+, so you can better leave that off.
