Kavee, 07 Jun 2020best phone ever :) It is way too far from being the best phone ever... The camera, despite being Sony it's awful compared to flagships, even in 2016-2017. I bought it for 2 things : size and camera.
After 3 years of use I regret a little bit not putting a little more money and buying a bigger phone but with a nice camera and better interface (sony has clearly not put any effort on it)

The best compact phone I've ever had. Been using it for more than 2 years now and it is a master piece... No lagging, 21megapixel camera says it all when it comes to pictures and the battery life is not that bad. Used Z3 Mini before it and not disappointed at this choice.

Camera still compares with latest ones even at 8x digital zoom. Battery lasts ok but better with some adjustments and of course flashed with latest Android 6 rather than 8. This one it's on top 3 compact ever made! A must have!

Vic, 17 Mar 2020No more updates, potentially dangerous and stupid to buy no... moreNo no no, don't waste your money, just find iPhone 7 or Samsung S7 which use Sony sensor but the picture is really great for indoor and outdoor
Xperia has a big problem until they release Xperia 1: Xperia Smartphone division can' t use the same camera tech that Alpha camera division used, due to Business Competition, and that's why even Xperia has large megapixel sensor that exclusively made only for Xperia, the Xperia photo result in indoor even well lit is very bad, you could see much noise in picture on 23 MP or even 8 MP, outdoor is great mostly no noise because the bright sun light
No lagging and No problem, sometime overheat due to old Snapdragon 650 processor size

Vic, 17 Mar 2020No more updates, potentially dangerous and stupid to buy no... moreBought a used one few days ago, other than have to setup an AP THE manually, the phone works great. It's fast and snappy on Android 8.0, there's rarely any lags. Got 3~4hours of screen on time per charge. I think you could live with it!

I too notice that.
I've been through all the software version available for it.
I like Nougat because of it's loud volume via the 3.5 jack aside of that I think marshmallow is cooler when it comes to battery performance

The worst part was by Google, not Sony. The night blue light dimmer was removed, forcing me to use a not decent third party app.

I've been using this phone for a while now. Its cool and does performance greatly.
I started up with Marshmallow, which the battery was working okay, got some security updates like twice after upgrading to 7.0.0.
Out of the updates, the second security update ruined the battery performance shortly, later on it then balanced itself. Now i just got another update which i think is Oreo, and I'm tempted to hit the update button.
But am scared at the same time 'cos i don't want my battery performance down this time.
Pls for those of you running Oreo, pls what's the battery and general performance of the phone on oreo compare to nougat.
Battery is my main concern here, pls help me out.
