I tried an Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium and both gets really bright even under direct sunlight. One of my friend has one and he is amazed by how bright it can get under sunlight. And fyi, Z5 got the most accurate screen last year, and now is the X and X Performance. And yes, I did try an S7 Edge. It does get bright, but not as good as Sony can. I don't care how m... moreHah, in reality Sony display sucks, my friend's Z5P is really poor sunlight legibility, did you say Sony has pure whites? Sony White balance is rather cold or bluish. Did you try S7 edge in real life? Try basic display mode. (But my favourite is Adaptive display mode).

The more important thing here is how we see it in reality, and that's where Sony always wins. Samsung has greenish or yellowish tint on the screen while Sony has amazing pure whites, no tints or oversaturation either. Better try it in real life before judging

If you think 4K is useless on 4.6inch smartphone, then 2K on 5.5 inch smartphone is also useless. 1080p is best viewed on 6 inch devices. 2K is for tablets ONLY while 4K is for TVs. That's why Apple never went with 1080p on the iPhone 6s. 720p is more than enough on such screens like this. You basically have to be practical before putting overkill specs on smartphones.

Samsung always has yellow tint on their screen. You have to see it in reality before judging it. The Z5's screen is much better than the S7

Their displays have a blue hue, which increases the vividness of the screen, but also tends to over saturate colors (Not as over saturated as Samsung though).

              4K @ 4.6 inch is overkill, but FHD @ 4.6 inch is not overkill.
              If you side by side compare a 4.6 inch HD panel to a 4.6 inch FHD panel, you can notice the difference in clarity.
              And since Android is mostly about spec wars, Sony should keep up in that. Of course, not just specs, but also on real life performance. If the X Compact realeases with a HD panel, people will complain.

Just wish more phones were better in battery life, something Bony hasn't achieved since the Z3 series.

                                  IMHO Sony should go back the way the very first compact (Z1) was: equal to the hi end model in every single spec, except for display resolution and battery of course.

                                      I miss xperia z design , please bring it back to me please sony

                                        Things Sony need to do for x compact
                                        1. Improve the loudness of speakers than z5 and x series
                                        2. Improve the battery life of the x compact, z3 compact had a Best battery life ever (with such a small size)
                                        3. Lower down the price
                                        and also pls launch it india
