4K @ 4.6 inch is overkill, but FHD @ 4.6 inch is not overkill.
If you side by side compare a 4.6 inch HD panel to a 4.6 inch FHD panel, you can notice the difference in clarity.
And since Android is mostly about spec wars, Sony should keep up in that. Of course, not just specs, but also on real life performance. If the X Compact realeases with a HD panel, people will complain.

We can recognize the phone that mean to be good sounding phone from the size of speaker, look at Nexus 6P and Axon 7 giant speakers.

Just wish more phones were better in battery life, something Bony hasn't achieved since the Z3 series.

IMHO Sony should go back the way the very first compact (Z1) was: equal to the hi end model in every single spec, except for display resolution and battery of course.

(Rebuilding Amp & mini subwoofer)
Subwoofer (mini) system with built in amplifier! Of course, if that's possible!

Things Sony need to do for x compact
1. Improve the loudness of speakers than z5 and x series
2. Improve the battery life of the x compact, z3 compact had a Best battery life ever (with such a small size)
3. Lower down the price
and also pls launch it india

Smartphones aren't TVs to have overkill screen resolution. And who the fuck cares with the difference when you can't even notice it in real life? What's more important is how the screen looks on the phone, and that is where Sony always leads everyone else. Samsung=oversaturated. Sony=super color accurate
Resolution don't mean everything. Xperia X has better callibrated screen than the S7, and you CAN notice it in real life

P.S Snapdragon 650 is faster than the Snapdragon 808, so don't underestimate the 650.

There is a huge difference between 2 inch and a 4.6 inch display.

However if they improve the camera on the x compact ( the one on xperia x perform is terrible at focusing with many artifacts ) I will be happy to pay 600 euro for it.
