Until Sony changes its weak scratch resistant screen to some heavy duty Iike gorilla glass, I will never ever ever buy another one of your phone. Two Sony so far. Couldn't withstand a 1 foot drop. Useless.

It's not a flagship IMO, and i still can't figure out why they've released such a device. Probably to earn money (obvs)... :D No one can say that this is a mid-range, it has the new powerful SD820, midrange has 612 and or 650. (I'm not sure about these two numbers, correct me if i'm wrong)
Samsung uses a better Sony sensor for its camera f/1.7 and this one uses the Z5's f/2.0.
Only this, IMO means that Sony may have the same or an even better sensor for its flagship device, the Z series in the future.
This is the only thing i can think about at the moment, Sony always wants to be on the top with their cameras, they just can't optimise their software most of the time. (this is changing tho)
PS: I wouldn't be surprised if it wouldn't be released in the US and the EU.

hmmp now even Sony copying Apple now? Sony is running out of new ideas! aluminum unibody, very edgy and the back camera is in left top like the iphone 6? really Sony???

Looks nice and has a pleasant aesthetics. Has the current technical level, apart from FM radio and NFC.

disappointment, it has awful battery and the bezels are for last decade like phones of 2005 or 2004. screen to body ratio is just 66%..... sony it's time to ride in right way

This is NOT the Z5's successor. The X Performance is the mid-range flagship. A thing that other brands don't have.
But even as a mid-range flagship it has the same hardware as the S7 and G5, the difference being the display and maybe other features.
The Z series will probably gonna be released in a few months, like Sony used to every year.
I'm guessing the Z6 will probably have:
- a modified SnapDragon 820 processor with tweaked kernel
- 4-5-6 GB RAM
- larger capacity 64 - 128 GB
- QHD Display in larger sizes
- and hopefully other cool features :)
But as a flagship enthusiast, I would concider buying the X Performace. My ideal phone has 5 inches display on FHD, no more, and this one fits my criterias.
For the trolls who have nothing better to do, go buy a Samsung or an LG or one of those no-name chinese phones.
But for me quality is everything and I choose SONY!

Might be possible to install the App later on.
Some Sony phones in the past even had FM transmitters. But didn't include software to get them work.
Example Xperia Z ,Xperia M5.....

I used to have a Xperia T (lt30), it has around 1850mah on the battery but it lasted two days. I used to listen to music and read at the same time about 2hrs per day and play another hour or two. Well, I have to admit that I didn't use any data plan, only wifi.

Choice changes from person to person.
I personally prefer the Xperia X series design over Samsung S series design language.
Some people love Samsung design and don't like Sony brick omnibalance.
So it is a personal preference.
