Have 2 of these phones, the slightly older version has touchscreen issues, really annoying waste of money. Used to love Sony mobiles but not now!

After a year and a half touch display finally failed. Phone has never been dropped or scratched. Been using glass protection since I bought it. Excellent camera for its price range but touch screen is starting to annoy me so much that I want to smash it on the floor. Like someone said previously all the letters on the righr side of the screen are impossible to be used, top menu is nearly impossible to be pulled down. Confused feelings.

Boooooooooooooooo! I ignored all the complaints about the touuch screen, thinking, "won't happen to me!" Well... It happened. It's actually the most frustrating phone ever. Never dropped or abused. Just a giant piece of doo doo.

Don't use greasy or wet hands (again use a screen protector). Over 8 months of intense usage, along with 3 friends using the same with me, same settings, no issues at all. Knowing how to use it and to handle it makes it perfect. I recommend buying the dual sim model. It's perfect in every aspect (or using any firmware Nougat or Oreo). Now it's the cheapest in its class.

I bought this for the bigger internal memory at a good price, and the usual Sony camera quality. My touch screen has not failed permanently but I have daily problems touching on letters p and q and the number 0, which can be more serious when trying to write a password, or menu buttons in the top right hand corner. Also very frustrated by the apps automatically sending themselves to the SD card, so they have to be uninstalled and reinstalled. This happens when the phone is at rest! So far technical support has not been satisfactory.

Best not to buy it.
Despite of all the bad reviews online, I visited the showroom @ Bangalore, India. The device which was on display there had touch issues.
I asked the sales person about it and he was saying some irrelevant reasons. After my multiple questions he says its got some issue and they are sending it to service center soon.
Thank God I didn't just order it online.
Even though I'm a Sony lover. No more blind purchases.

3 friends plus myself having XA1 models. None have problems. Nougat or Oreo is simply the best device under 130 euro. Can be flashed and set to solve this issue. Mostly bad maintaining regarding Nougat firmware and also excessive power button usage. If having Nougat use mostly proximity on/off apps, but mostly, stop trolling!

Touch screen Issues
This is happening all over the globe with this device , 5-6 months after , corners of the screen becomes unresponsive really bad touch screen pannel from sony with such a high reputation . I submitted my device to service center its in warranty but i doubt it wil happen again then we have no option than to pay for it or to stop using it , Sony should recall this device!! The world forums are full of complaints with this device since it launched but sony has done nothing to address it. Really disappointed !!

Touchscreen never works properly even after submitting the phone twice and thrice in service center. Sony technical team is doing their worst and failed to repair.
Shame on Sony.
Xa1 is totally garbage phone.

Sony XA1. First time i purchased sony mobile because of its brand name.Sorry to say its just like a dustbin.It can be only compare with ist generation phone.But iam sure ist generation phone will beat this phone.Still sony engineer cant perform to built a good touch panel. In my entire life i will never waste my money with sony product.100 dh phone have much better touch panel . Sony engineer, shame to say engineers do some good work at least for maintain the brand name.
