I too have a Z3 compact and like it a lot, except I dropped it and ruined screen + digitizer. Got it repaired OK but the audio & speaker output was never the same (and was never great from the start, as the reviews indicated). XA1 looks like a good replacement. I wonder if the audio volume is better than the Z3 compact? You'd think Sony, of all brands, would have excellent audio. Also, one variant of the XA1 has every T-Mobile LTE band including the new one, Band 66! Last I checked, not many other phones have it as yet.

AnonD-658465, 02 Apr 2017I have been looking for a mid-range phone that is not huge,... moreI had the same phone z3 compact and loved it! Till I smashed the screen for a 2nd time and it was a better option to get a new phone then pay to replace.. I got the X Compact. Still a good phone, allot more durable! The z3 seemed fragile..

I like the spec and price is reasonable, downside is battery capacity. I suggest you guys just get the X Compact instead which has better SoC, Stereo, DAC, Better Cam, etc. and only a little bit expensive.

Anonymous, 12 Mar 2017Neither. They both look good, but they both are too expensi... moreYes, thank you for your advice. But I don't see any old flagships suiting me.
The Galaxy S7 might still be expensive for me even if the price drops after the Galaxy S8. And I don't see the Galaxy S6 as a choice either.
While the Xperia Z5 here in the Philippines is still pretty expensive at around 530 USD given its age.
And Apple, LG, and Huawei are outside my book.
But if the S7's price drops hard enough, I'll be considering it.
Again thanks for your advice :-)

I own Xperia XA. The battery hardly lasts a day with batter saver mode. Now with XA1 its the same 2300 mAh. It seems Sony did not get their Customer feedback well.

I have been looking for a mid-range phone that is not huge, but with a high-end camera, forever. Unlike most people it seems, I don't use my phone for everything - I actually still prefer a laptop. I have had a Z3 Compact for 3+ years now, and have also grown to love the physical camera shutter button. It is so much easier to press it down half way to focus, than using some sort of touch screen button. I hope my Z3 Compact lasts till April 26th!!
