Wonder what the price will be but as we can expect compared to A1 xiaomi with simmilar specs this phone will be maybe a 150-200 eur more expensive.

Despite the difference in battery size, both of these devices will easily get you through the day. And then some.
On a side note, my XZ1 Compact is 9.3mm to 9.7mm. It's a manageable thickness that I find acceptable for the battery life I'm receiving of 1.3 dayish average.

Mediatek had issues but with Snapdragon Sony got the most performance of all. Indolents that don't enjoy the understanding or testing its camera or some other hidden capabilities, will always choose an ultra expensive Samsung, or an ultra boring Huawei. Turning on and off a smartphone will never understand how and interesting a Sony device can be. So people having bad experiences are the same having bad interest in maintaining their Sony devices. Sony will be as overall performance and quality on top. Experience talks great in my case!

sony can't produce phones anymore, i have experianced 3 xperias on long term and the quality of sony's phones has dropped progeressively, currently i rather burn my money than give it to sony this brand makes no effort and keeps building cheap trash boring phones with expensive budget while you can get x10 much better phone with lower price

Seriously, 9.7mm thick? I thought that might be a misprint. And a little heavy at 171 grams. I don't want that in my pocket. Too bad, b/c the display size is just right.

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2018Well thought of buying the xa1 plus this month but after So... moresame here, shortlisted xa1 plus on ebay and waiting patiently for prices of new xa2 to reveal here in India...there are basically only two advantages of xa1 plus over xa2 i.e. the screen size, a bit larger at 5.5" and availability of a 4gb ram version, also some may find the fingerprint scanner on side lock button more convenient than on back...other than that the two are almost the same except the soc which on newer xa2 has an edge and maybe the faster cat13 speeds...I think xa2 will be priced similarly to what xa1 plus is now ~350$...in India atleast

Waiting for xa2 in India to be released. I've to replaced my 1 yr old Asus 3 max its by far the worst device I've come across even my e4g was better than it. So I'm waiting to buy Sony again.

7.7, 20 Jan 2018I'd probably say the new Nokia 6 is a better value, it's go... moreObviously Sony has miles better camera that can record 4k(stereo recording), "Smaller" 5.2" and bigger battery w/ Qnovo, aptx HD, LDAC, Dedicated MicroSD slot w/o sacrificing Dual-Sim, etc.
But i guess Nokia6 is cheaper w/ 4GB Ram and a bigger 64GB Storage option.

According to me old fingerprint scanner is better than this ugly one,,,, i am huge fan of sony products so plz....... sony continues with old lock button with scanner its nice one
