[deleted post]Although Im not happy with side frames being polycarbonate, I can understand the logic of it. Better signal and wifi recievement (XZ is best in that regard as seen on yt tests), and lesser wifi microwave radiation factor. Although it is a loss to sturdiness it is a gain to user experience.
Worst in that regard are all metal phones, cause they need plastic covered antenna strips on the back for a decent signal, but you have to be very careful not to scratch or damage those phones, you may loose antena signal.
To examine what I am talking about just try to use wifi on an all metal phone without the back cover.
Apple got the idea and placed them strips on sideframes...., but again prone to damage if your phone drops.
Antenna should indeed be inside the phones frame, as it is on XZ.
Which material should it be covered with is a design choice, but.only polycarbonate, glass and cheramic apply

    [deleted post]Every fingerprint scanner button is made of plastic dumbo. It wouldnt work if it were any other material.

    Some use glass cover to protect it from scratches because they place it on front or back pannel, which are more prone to wear and tear damage.
    Xperias one is nonprotruding and on the side frame, best placement for it not to get scratched in most scenarios, unlike being on the front or the back of the phone.

    So dont worry Xperias one will outast even the protected ones, even if not glass protected, just as protection cover for camera lasts cause its not a protruding one.
    Its called smart design.

      The fingerprint reader is plastic.
      And the frame is plastic and easy to break.
      The camera lenses is glass not plastic like last year z5P..

        Does this phone have an FM radio?

        I know GSM says no but several other sites say it does, including carriers in the UK.

        I'm not sure if it's market dependant like the LG V20.

        Can anyone give me a definitive answer please, many thanks

            People make critics on Sony and sometimes they have never had a Xperia on their hands.
            I do not understand why people believe price and quality is just about power.. Powerful does not mean better.

            When they brought z5 premium,lot of people said that 4K was waste of time and power on a screen smaller than 50 in.

            Now s8 may have it, people say it is necessary.
            VR glasse will never be a success.

            People forget that Xperias have a great quality LCD display, it has the same technologies they use on their tvs. If u do not like colors you can adjust it.
            Cameras always have good score, if you do not know the auto mode is only 8 mp. Manual mode is far better than auto.

            Stereo sound, upscale for audio files. Other brands bring one front speaker and it works only for calls.

            Sony makes the Xperia for a nice, easy and funny experience.
            They do not built the device to make gamers happy. That is why they have the PS.

            3 gb ram is more than enough to keep at least 60 apps open at same time, who does have 60 apps running.

            You can use the way you want, you will never make a z3 ou X "freeze".

            X Performance e Xz have all benchmarks score higher than s7 edge. Of course they can do everything well.

            In february Sony bring another 5,5 in 4K Xperia, if s8 bring 2k people will say 4k is usefuless.

                                [deleted post]It's reasonable comment with the love for the brand in XZ forum and let people know more about the phone, but fight so hard with so called hard proven documentated facts is brand hating or just simply troll. Even though Sony removed customer after sale services from China due to lower sales during past few years, But this time I see increased sales for XZ which were not good for Xperia Z5, X or X performance. If there are Die heard Sony fans among this apple crazy nation, no doubt of others.

                                    This is 100% software related...absolutely nothing to do with a bezel build problem...perhaps English is not the language for you, your native Arabic language may be better.
