Personally, I stick with the bigger respected smartphone reviewer sites. They are very experienced with camera testing. Most people and myself only use auto mode. If you need better, then use a proper camera. Sony has great camera sensors, but its software isn't the best

Your claim that Sony Xperia XZ is as good as a DSLR camera just shows your ignorance.

Main problem is its standards are dslr camera based, not some-phone-rev-personal-opinion based.
Phone camera revs made pixelpeeping and only certain camera aspects standard, neglecting most other aspects.
Proof is here, compares offered by crops only insted of 1:1 photos, as if crop is a camera standard and not the actual shot.
Therein remains the problem, people value their own opinions most, so standardised measurments dont mean squat to them.
Make a compare of any phone to a dslr camera, and Xperias remains the closest to those dslr reproducing standards. Pixel closest now tho, but obviously XZ better except in dynamic range part.

Alais, Sony made also first waterproof 3.5mm jack, first waterproof powerbutton and first waterproof microUSB jack, thats waterproof design innovation at its best. Sony remains industry standard for IP certification on a mobile phone. Others can only copycat.

Sony's build quality has been going down the drain recently, even with the XZ. Sure the alloy metal back is fancy but not practical when the rest is made up of plastic. Realised my XZ doesn't lay flat on a flat surface and discovered a slight bend to the top corner. This wouldn't happen if it had all metal body. Been a Sony since past few years and this is quite disappointing since the price also doesn't justify its worth. This will be my last Sony phone..

I am sure Sony is ahead the competitors in waterproof smartphones. But, I don't know why some competitors making waterproof have to sacrifice the 3.5mm earphone jack to lightning port and some of them stay using cheaper mono speaker, they are shame/flaws in waterproof design.

Sony making less smartphone but most of it with well design and premium quality, more than 20 and above are water-resistant smartphones, go and research yourself which company is rich experience in making water-resistant smartphone. You can't find one.

The water-resistant must have the design and the technology change with each passing day, that why come out with IP68 water-resitant. The Sony making over 20 water-resistant smartphones including entry mid-range and flagships, they have rich experience in design water-resistant smartphone compare those speculators(competitors) nowadays .

All Samsung does is copy and explode. Never really made anything innovative. Nobody needs a heart rate monitor on a damn phone!
Nobody needs a curved screen and an iris scanner. All unnecessary gimmicks!

Sonys 23 mpx camera with 5 axis stabilisation and triple hybrid focus leaves all other in dust.
As shown by multiple links here.
Youd have to know how to use manual for lowlight tho.
But then again manual is a feature that typical "jack knows it all" never ever uses.
