xiaomi is just a small china company compared to sony. sony can do anything to xiaomi, including copying xiaomi's mi3 design.
sometimes the world is unfair, right? more powerfull people can do anything to the less pewerfull.
i feel sympathy to Xiaomi. lol.
sony dont have good designer, can't afford to employ a good designer, so they decided to copy mi3.

It high time Sony survived on its reputation of 50 yrs. Now it's products are expensive, outdated, no resale. Till to date not decided to quit, or continue. Just buy expensive and repent.

God i love this device. Checked it out at my country's showroom. Its not available for sale yet, but its blazing fast, awesome camera and feels very premium. My z5 is still going strong. Otherwise this would be mine.

it is actually JUST a software developed by a company. The company name is: Qnovo. This company is not owned by sony.
so again.. this software is NOT developed and NOT invented by Sony.
This software manages how the battery is charged, what voltage/current allowed to power the battery, and when is the right time to stop the charge.
So.. this software technically can be used anywhere with all kinds of lithium batteries (not just limited to sony's product).
The battery that are used in all sony flagships, are just regular lithium batteries, managed by Qnovo's battery management software.

About the Qnovo tech, I think Xiaomi will not use it, because this will increase their cost, they always want to stay cheaper.
About the water-resistant, it is perhaps they will do. The water-resistant is very important, if the season of HFMD coming make sure the gadget can wash and clean up before giving to children.

Has anyone a problem to connect to PC via usb cable? I can't. PC not see a phone. I try as well on my laptop. The same. Cable is original and charge a phone normally.
