I do not like the design. Not only it is very old (the same for about all their phones), but it seems not very handy (since buttons are all on the same place, about where your palm applies pressure to maintain the phone in your hands)
Otherwise good specs. FHD is a down but it may deliver higher performances than the Note 7. No useless 4GB+ of RAM that's good, battery kinda disappointing

this is how it should be compared , year to year realesed flagships on IFA , not MWC released phones bc they have different purposes relating the market .

I have a Z3 and it still works smooth as butter, stable software, fast UI, great camera, long battery life and it's waterproof too. You can expect only high quality products from Sony. If you have a problem with the device you can easily sort it out trough xperia care. Best support for phones. The latest Xperia XZ is an instant buy for me, coming from previos positive experience with Sony smartphones.

As huge Sony fan I recommend to buy any Sony phone. You won't regret. I've bought my Z3 with 900$. It can fly now with marshmallow. Very smooth even after two years.

OK, we got a cool new design, which is good, we get a better camera, which is good, but we have the same battery capacity. Why only 2900 mAh?? The Z2 had 3200 mAh. The technology isn't going backwards dear Sony!
You should have increase the RAM too, coz many people will say others have 4GB, yet you stuck with 3GB.
On the top of that, Sony will not give you FM radio too. They are following others.

1. why no optical image stabilization to the camera?
2. why 3gb ram and not 4gb like the rest of the flagships?
3. why no physical android navigation buttons? the big bottom bezel is just wasted!
5. why no 5.5" 4K version? a successor to the Z5 premium and a competitor to the Galaxy s8 and the LG G6.
4. why so late to the market? all these drawbacks - even though this device would be released much later than the competition! Half a year later!
Of course also Sony's 2017/18 flagship would again be late and weak (also next year), and most probably without VR (Google daydream) support that all next year's flagships would have.
It seems that Sony wants to make its handset division to fail! Why even bother with waiting and buying a Sony device?

Sony grateful to u.but please increase the display size and give us a good battery life and camera clarity and the main thing is processor is this better then octa core processor.

OH MY GOD, bottom and top bezels are taking too much space. Come on Sony, What are you doing???? I am your big fan hereeeeeeeeeeeeeee. But I cant accept the HUGE bottom and top bezels like that. Looks very UGLY. I'll wait for NOkia. If Nokia is not good for the first time coming back, I will stay put with Note 4. Very disappointed Sony

the bottom and top bezels, especially the top, are unforgivable. Plus this design has been the same for five years now. Huawei has been killing it and putting Sony to shame in terms of design. It's almost as if Sony is trying to commit suicide by releasing this joke of a phone. Even the X Compact, the last reamaning Xperia standout in a a sea of smartphones, has been fatally destroyed by Sony itself.

It seems like Sony doesn't know what people want anymore on a phone. Removing a fingerprint sensor (on the US model) and not having a CDMA radio or any partnerships with carriers? They're not nearly as compelling as HTC and even THEY were having trouble selling the HTC 10, even with freebie deals on their site unlocked. If this phone ends up being 699 US, it's going to flop just like the X Performance did. The 1080p LCD display, 3GB of RAM, and only USB 2.0 Type C are all cost cutting measures too that keep this phone from warranting full price.

Only one question! If recording video 2160p was necessary, so! Why wasn't on XXP!? & if that wasn't necessary! Why that's on XXZ!? 2160p & FHD display!?
2160p recording video has need to minimum 2K display!
