I bought this barely used on eBay recently for $200 and the battery is still in good health according to a few different apps that test the internals. But I had to disable a lot of apps in order for the battery to get me through the day, and still it barely manages to do that. Coming from a Pixel 4a that had amazing software optimization and a battery that would easily last the whole day of heavy use, this XZ1C is hard to get used to in terms of the mediocre battery performance. The camera also sucks, both the front and back. But the way this thing feels in my hands is unbeatable. Aside from the 2016 iPhone SE this is the most comfortable sized phone ever. It runs pretty smooth overall but still has its moments of glitches and me needing to reboot apps. For anyone wondering, you literally can only use this on T-Mobile in the USA because it's the only carrier that will support this phone after the 3g shutdown across the board.

Sony is dumb. A new version with that size would sell easily. Many people didn't like that big 5,5 inch and upward screen devices, which all more or less look the same.Even if the price would go up to 700-800 euro with compared specs, many people would buy it.

And no, flipping the connector, using other USB cables, turning USB debugging on/off are not helping.

Also, sometimes it works to flip the USB-C connector over...try it both ways, even though it physically fits into your phone no matter how you turn it. Sometimes even my USB drives don't mount for file transfer on the phone until I flip it around.

Great phone. I made sure that it was only charged with a slow charger to keep the heat down. The phone has a good front camera for video calls. If one wishes to, they can install the latest aftermarket Android operating system.
There's one aftermarket custom OS option which gets updates over the air. It's called HavocOS https://havoc-os.com/download . Remember to save the Digital Rights Management keys before unlocking the bootloader, otherwise they are permanently lost.

I really wanted this phone. It's really hard to find it now in my country. This is particularly the best compact phone I need to have it

bought a used XZ1c from japan (docomo) earlier this year and it's quickly becoming my favorite phone so far! the battery is still top notch and it's still at 96% health according to the service menu (2600/2700mah). 2600mah may not sound that much to most people but you can easily go a few days without needing to charge it cuz it's pretty overkill for a 720p phone.

the only downside is it's stuck with android 9 and 32gb is kinda shit tbh but if you're only using it for calls/whatsapp/telegram like me you'll probably be fine.

My phone has three years and it has the same battery and speed as the first day, it is amazing.
I hope it last many more years, as there aren't any new phones with that size. I don't like I don't get any new Android security patches... but I take the risk.
Why are all new smartphones so big?
I would like to get this exact phone but with a 2021 SoC.

The phone is a great disappointment as the microphone isn't working properly: no one can hear me! ALL my correspondents complain that the sound they hear is either awful or non-existant. I would never recommend it to anyone!
