Even after owning this phone for 5 years, I still accidentally drop it into water and it's still totally fine. The shape and hold is a bit odd, without a case it's like a bar of soap. I thought initially that the fingerprint sensor location was in a worse place, but I got used to it and it's usually intuitive. This webpage doesn't show that it has wireless charging, but it does.

it's sad that sony didn't push a12 for their sd845 phones. that made a lot of differences for casual user.

XZ2' screen is 18:9, where the XZ2 Premium's, although being 4K, is back to 16:9.

My xz2 just died from water damage inside my rain jacket while running. It was my fault, but I have always rinsed my other xperias with water before and all of them have survived.

Coming back to this phone in 2023, I only noticed the AOSP Open Device program for several Sony phones*. It turns out that Sony rolls out Android 12.0 binaries for this phone. If you think about it, Sony can officially roll out a fourth OS update to this phone. I don't mind this AOSP program thing since I used to flash custom ROMs, but most average consumers don't do that kind of thing.

My lcd is slightly lifted. It seems the battery is swollen and pushing the lcd. This phone has served me well for almost 5 years now.

A perfect phone with a great display and a great camera! Take a look! Is an incredible phone! I have also a red xz premium for the 4k screen. It's an amazing piece of technology, but kinda old.
