      htc did it first. they named their design "Liquid".
      Sony copy it, not only the design but also the name of that design which is Ambient "Flow".
      Both Liquid and Flow are inspired from water.

      btw you already change your mind? now you love bezelless phone with less bezel than samsung?
      i'm still waiting you to say "i love oled" dude. LOL.

        For me this is the most beautiful phone from sony ever. Some say it looks like HTC phone, whats the problem? phone are now all look a like.
        No 3,5 jack audio is a let down, bcz its stronger attached, i afraid if we use usb port with adapter too often we will break the usb port.

            Looking at the specs, I must say I'm very disappointed with it.

            The 2nd sim card will occupy the SD card slot, the battery capacity is still below 3500 mah, and no 3.5mm jack. .

            No reason for me to buy it whatsoever.

              XZ2 is all glossy slides, from edges up to the center, giving an X shaped look. If its to be a fashionable trendy design, its Quite good IMO.

                AnonD-521587, 04 Mar 2018i mean even you can kind of see they definitely ripped off ... moreYup, looks like some Htc, but remembering back Xperia Neo V and L back design, with same back curve,camera and sensor placement, it looks even more like those, just with glass back.
                I or you might not like it, but I cant say its ugly in any way, its a fashionable product now, but not practical at all as previous Z and X series Xperias.
                Back Glass gives a X shape light bending here, which looks quite good, and it slides from 6mm edge to 11 mm center here, while other similar looking phones have bends on that glass.
                About 3D scanner front, well, yeah, we could call it gimmick, but it is more advanced and less gimmick than what others offer with animoji thing.
                And DVS is not a gimmick, just enhanced vibration system that all phones already have. Wouldnt call vibration a gimmick, its a useful and omnipresent thing on phones since ages. Sony just gave us playstation DualShock feature here, which I like on Playstation as it is a more immersive gaming experience, and I like here also.

                And I aint buying jack less also, so I aint buying this.

                  this phone is thick and has wide bezel.
                  I don't understand how it only packs 3180MAH battery?
                  Hahaha
                  This phone would be good if the battery is bigger.

                    But with their choice to curved shape, i think sony just want to be different with HTC U11 that have the top bulge and flat bottom, then Sony goes to middle bulge and flat top bottom..

                    I think sony run their xperia XA, X, X performance design language but deal with back glass..

                      Everyone has their own desires, so thats okay..

                      But every company, not only sony also have their own desires to build their products..

                      That's why their choosing materials and features to be included in their smartphone make the consumers love or not..

                      For sony, i think they have choose the right way for their smartphone..

                      With LCD, so they dont have a more space for they camera and dynamic vibration system, then the bezel can not reduced more..

                      With wireless charging module, so when the phone in wet condition just because of water, the phone can be charged safely with wireless charging adapter.
                      And wireless charging is more modern than wire charging (maybe the other company will have its feature in the future)..
                      That's why they ditched 3.5 mm jack to wireless connectivity for the music pleasure.. because Sony has the technology for wireless music pleasure..

                      With glass on the back, so the phone will be more modern than polycarbonate plastic as well, you see xperia XZ Premium for example..

Surely not even sony fanboys (not even me) can deny this. The design is not ugly but it's not very original from sony. And hTC does it at 7.9mm thinner than Sony which is really thick at 11.1mm.

                        it has a few nice innovations but it could have done more for sure. the panel is great but im sure samsungs still edges out until JDI releases their own OLED panels.

                        the issue here is that its not original and no headphone jack. I refuse to buy a headphone jacless phone from literally any company. ANd if im gonna upgrade im upgrading to the XZ1 and not the XZ2. or waiting for Sony's flagship at IFA which im sure will be better than this crap. Its just disappointing cuz sony should be leading the way not followign. 4k hdr is nice but still 3d and vibration thing are gimmicks.

                          Bet you couldn't guess which phone won the best smart phone of MWC 2018, it's the Sony xperia XZ2, it's official, if you don't believe me Google it yourself

                            Too much complaint about the design. I myself don't want to complaint about the design but the back is look like HTC. Curved back doesn't look elegant, flat looks more classy. And camera looks like doesn't have much improvements except 4K HDR recording.

                                    This year, 2019 (maximum) is last year for part of Sony's smart phones and it doesn't matter it's Japanese or Chinese or Martin!! Weather they like or dislike it Xperia XZ Pro or premium is last arrow in their box! BTW, if I tell you why they removed 3.5mm jack.h you answer probably it was too: it's neo trend or before since we'd removing 3.5mm in past in Motorola's smartphone! The interesting matter it's: if I tell you why they used f/2.0 in rear cam! If I tell you f/1.8/1.7/1.6/1.5 is most necessary needs for Sony's cameras!! What's you answer you logical reasons..

                                      Yes, DVS is great for gaming and apps, its a proactive haptic feedback, not passive dependant on the app as all till now. Its a DualShock PS controller feature on a phone now. Expect some dedicated games for that. Not a gimmick at all...or you think every smartphones vibration system is a gimmick too?
                                      Super slo mo... you can call it unsufficient, but it is the only one available on a smartphone so far, so it is best as it is.
                                      And yeah, headphone jack.
                                      Although everything else is great on this phone, I am not givin money for it, exactly because of that.
