Not sure how my original reviews got deleted.
It has been almost a month since i got the XZ2P with the ear duo bundle. Before that i was using the Iphone X until i got this phone. I've been using XZ2P ever since. Overall it's a great phone especially the camera. I've been taking photos with both the iPhone X & XZ2P. XZ2P pictures comes out a bit better and most of the time it provides more details. XZ2P provides better low light photos.
I added few more photos comparisons between the 2 phones. All shots were taken in auto mode with both phones. iPhone X (Left) vs XZ2P (Right). XZ2P camera improved lot compare to previous Sony Phones.

Best display in the world.
4k hdr sony processor display.
Most accurate colors and detail.
Best camera, especially in low light.
Only phone to record in 4k hdr quality.
Display is 16 by 9 ratio, while all other phones are 18 by 9. Phone is wide and heavy. Comfortable to hold. Wow phone feels solid and premium. No other phone feels like this. The back of the phone is like a mirror and wow its beautiful. Everyone asking what phone it is. If you want the best phone, buy this phone. If you want best display and camera, buy this phone. If you want solid and premium, buy it now. It's easily worth $1000.

Don't listen to other reviews who's main complaints seem to stem from the phones visuals. Yes, visuals matter, but that is a very subjective topic. Instead, go look at this phone in person. This phone has a wonderful build quality that just can't be ignored. Build quality is something that doesn't translate well over video, so you'll really need to go take a look. I guarantee you will be impressed! Finally, while most phones are throwing an extra camera in, none have really innovated a breakthrough such as what this phone has done. Granted, in another year or so others will surely jump on. Another reason to see this phone in person is simply so you can enjoy the screen! It is shocking how vibrant and crisp it is. I'll end here but if there is anything you take away from my review, it's that you need to actually go see this phone in person.

Ok, so it's heavy, but the camera at night is crazy...
The phone feels expensive in your hand, everything else makes sense...
I think the only thing I don't like is the finger sensor, but it's better than what it is in the xz2, and after using it for a month, it's actually not bad at all but you must have a cover...
I LOVE THE FACT you can open the Sim card with your finger rather than a pin head..
Surprisingly the speakers are loud, it's loud to a point that I had to reassure my self that the phone is still a water proof phone...
I wish the screen at night was a little dimmer at night..
I came from Moto z2 and let me tell you, xz2 premium is so reliable, fast, and expensive...
One more note, this phone never ever heated up... Even when I am charging it and using it.... good job designer.
Good job Sony.

I'm seriously trying to find a reason to convince myself that this is a good phone in anyway possible and i really cant, amazingly hideous, thicker than phones from 2012 for no apparent reason, LCD screen, the only thing is the processor and it's not like this is the only device sports that processor, nothing special about it but it's price!

Just give up Sony. Nobody is buying these fat, chunky phones with their awkward FP placement, lack of OIS and no headphone jack.

Hope Sony will implement quad audio dac in their phones, because I don't understand how can they sit passive while LG is getting better at audio department. Sony in the past was the best at audio quality but today, I'm not sure of that.

Ulysses Dwight, 26 Aug 2018I know a lot of people here dislike the design on this phon... more16:9 ratio? A lot smaller bezels? A lot better battery life? Even better design? Bigger screen? Headphone jack? Flagship grade camera? Flagship performance?
Save half of your money & buy vanilla Mate 10. XZ2 Premium is not 2 times better than Mate 10.

This is absolutely a high-end phone, precision crafted, innovative, daring, and well thought out. Is it perfect, by no means, but what phone today is? Samsung? Iphone? Pixel? I would say Sony plays in the space Mercedes, BMW plays in the luxury car market. Samsung is the Toyota/Lexus/Acura space. Those in the know will still differentiate between German performance, and Japanese practicality. Samsung got it's mass market presence not because it made a better phone, but because it cut corners to give carriers the larger profit margins and became defacto. I'm not sure what all the users and reviews are complaining about with the fingerprint. Let's be practical and realistic with physical space. The back houses a set of kick butt dual camera setup, where would you put the f.p. sensor otherwise? The trade off is either a kick butt camera, or a slight inconvenience of bending the finger a bit and get over it. I think people are becoming so spoiled and probably a symptom of an out-of-control social media as well, that reviews have lost sight of what's important, what compromises are needed in real life, and market choices/segments products compete in. There's no authority here, and it's all he say she say. I'll take Sony's quality and innovation anytime of the day, over the exaggerated Samsung specifications, flashy exterior, and inferior internal parts, and they've not become impossibly expensive as well. The lack of excitement on the Note9 is a great example. I can't think of a single cutting edge technology on the Galaxy phone line in the last 3 or 4 generations, in fact not since the Galaxy S2 / Note 2. Oh, a curved screen doesn't count as a technological innovation. The smartphone market is exciting because of what Sony puts out. There's the high ISO, there's the 4K screen, there's the active vibration audio, LDAC, the list goes on. Yes the form factor is a bit larger, but keep in mind there's wireless charging, there's the dual camera, and the battery power needed for the 4K screen, and all the other goodies. There's also people complaining about the 4k screen not being necessary, well how about using cars as an example. We don't have roads to support cars with over 160hp, but that doesn't stop people from buying cars with 500+ hp all the time. You know what's unnecessary, a curved edge screen. Good taste, that's what's lacking in the mass market today. So, in short, if you're discriminating, and value the finer things in life, yes, the Sony is for you. A Mercedes E class is grossly overpriced when compared to a Honda Accord, with comparable hp. But really you don't need a lot of intelligence to know these two products are not in the same category. If you're don't have discriminating taste and value "practicality" then the likes of Samsung, One+, Pixel is for you. Oh and people complaining about the 16x9 screen ratio? do you even know what you're talking about. 16x9 is the standard HD 4K screen ratio, and for better multimedia consumption. 18x9 is not. so who said 18x9 is the new emerging standard?? and how does it work better? other than it being narrower and easier to hold by lazy people that aren't willing to use both hands. Since when has one-handed operation of a cell phone become an industry standard?? and just because you have a website, doesn't mean your information or point of view is correct. Remember the Facebook mess. Knowledge is power, and the lack of it is ignorance, and that's dangerous

I know a lot of people here dislike the design on this phone but it comes down to personal preference, really.
For me I've always been waiting for a new big 16:9 phone for a year now. yes, I heard about the gaming phone Razer released at the end of last year but I did not like it because it does not have waterproofing (I'm fond bringing my phone in the bathtub) and as per reviews, the speakers which really sounded awesome is unfortunately a dirt magnet.
why 16:9?
because I like it that way. well, I know some people would say that it looks outdated but the ratio is actually great for watching movies on the go, at home or while even taking a bath. those elongated phones can do that too, i know but did you not notice? it made everything seems smaller and I don't like it (i like watching Kdrama and those elongated phones makes me want to buy a magnifying glass to read subtittles). I want it big hahaha. and 18:9 screen makes the keyboard for someone like me with a big thumb and large sized palm uncomfortable, it's too cramped.
and 18:9 is so elongated that it makes it a difficult feat to reach the top part of the phone while holding it to check for notifications but yeah, I guess it takes practice. I have an 18:9 phone for months after i got the xz2 premium but i have not got used to it. (my iphone 7 plus was damaged, so i needed to buy something to replace it and i thought an 18:9 phone to go with the trend but sadly going with it is not the best idea.)
bezeless?
I have a big hand and it is very difficult to type in a message without those thin bezels on the sides of the phone. I need to hold my phone while typing (really?)! and without those thin bezels on the sides, my skin just beneath the area of my thumb always touches the screen and enters the corresponding letters beneath it which makes it very annoying.
bezels on the top and the bottom? I agree. they could have made it more thinner but that would make the phone look like somewhat a box and then people like you will again think of what to complain like, why it is not proportioned and maybe, why is it soo boxy?. yeah? lol
without the headphone jack?
I agree they shouldn't have followed suit with other brand names that removed it. It has it's pro's, I know and for some people, it is a deal breaker but for those who always complains of something about "looks outdated"? """ hahaha wtf? """ what if i will tell you too that a headphone jack is sooo 2015 and now that it's 2018, why should they place a fckn headphone jack? - are you following? yeah... for people like me, we like 16:9 too and it is a dealbreaker for us.
XZ2 premium is not for everyone and Sony is not forcing you to buy it. but as for me and for most of us who likes 16:9 aspect ratio and who likes bezels, Sony definitely has its place in our pockets. It is my first sony phone, xz2 premium. I was using samsung a lot before, S and note series and after Note 5, i planned to upgrade but you know hmmm it went kaboom and so tried and bought the iphone 7 plus and then iphone thought of why should we not make it more like a remote control? so they made an elongated screen and did not stopped there and also included a notch which seems to me like an IR blaster, then samsung followed suit except for the notch but then, still I told myself that I needed to be somewhere else.
heavy? what the!!! is your hand a weighing machine or something? OMG!
thick? it has a very good grip than the very thin iphone x when your typing or scrolling but well ofcourse, if you'll just hold it and not actually use it, I may like those thin sized phones.
bad camera app.? - I'm not getting why third parties keeps making an app when the one that comes with the phones are are great.
sony made a very good phone with xz2 premium but I also have some things that I like that they would have included on this device. like OIS and it would be great if they could make a gimbal for their phones too.
