I still have a working Sony Xperia Z Ultra; former 2013 flagship. It is amazing, ahead of its time by 5 years. The only Xperia that could utilize a screen to have any pencils or pen to write on its screen albeit dinosaurs era Chipset and no wireless charging unlike Xperia XZ2 trio.

I also have their 2015 flagship Sony Xperia Z5 Premium with its stunning 4k screen where I almost can't believe it that a phone can be this powerful enough such like a 4k TV fitted on my own hand. Yes, I can see much different between 4k and FHD. Its awesome. the fingerprint scanner on the side is really quick, easy and convenient compared to rear side fingerprint scanner on my sister's Huawei P10 phone. It is comfortably reached while lacing it on the table or inside my pant's pocket. Taking 4k video underwater is such a new experience. I planned to use tripod underwater at the swimming pool.

I hope Sony will change its design again after XZ2 the transition phone period ended. Omnibalance and Loop Surface are elegance design but has wear out such like Samsung Galaxy S8/9 design eventually need a new design language soon. Ambient Flow design is immature and need to be refresh again next year 2019.

Really hope that we will getting near bezeless Sony around 99% screen to body with 6.4 inch screen such like my most beloved Sony Xperia Z Ultra, otherwise, the new Samsung Galaxy Note 9 or even Note 10 will have my money soon. It is might be a goodbye to Sony

Tann Hauser, 30 May 2018Yeah, half made...glue and foam holding inside parts togeth... moreSony phones use plenty of glue inside. Front glass screen is glued on, or do you think its screwed on ? hahaha, You argument in invalid. FYI, glue and foam are also insulators and assist cooling and vibration.

Every other phone in this class is significantly lighter and thinner with a modern design. Thats called modern technology. This Sony phone weights 236 grams, 11.9mm thick and hundreds of Sony fans on this forum say thats its ugly. Plus no 3.5mm headphone jack.

Nothing premium about this phone. In fact, it should be called the unpremium phone.
Parts inside this phone are cheap, thick and heavy. Its as simple as that. Sony has only done more cost cutting.

I can't see any reason what so ever to even consider this bottom of its class phone.

No I do not know any arguably better built phone that is somehow magnificently lighter also.

I already shared dissasembly video of XZ2, so any interested person can see reason why exactly it is heavier than most phones, and showing its factual build quality...

Share with us then, some clue to your arguably better built but lighter phone..

Tann Hauser, 29 May 2018Nah, just not half-made from foam and glue like the rest.Half made? Now that's just exaggerating. You and I both know there are other phones out there that have arguably better/on par with the build quality than the XZ2. It's also a fact that the XZ2P is perhaps the most unwieldy phone Sony has made recently. Huge 5.8" display with sizable bezels, thick, heavy design. A step down compared to the sleek XZ Premium and even the old Z phones.

And honestly, no one cares whether companies use glue for sticking batteries to the frame of the phone.

Xperias were never the loudest, but sound quality was never in question.

They're just good, but not excellent. For a company who advertises the stereo speaker setup of the phone with buzzwords like "S-Force", I definitely expected better.

Its hard choseHard choice?? definitely not, unless you are a fan, i personally would choose the regular xz2 over the s9, HTC U12 is so promising too, xz2 premium is better than S9 in most aspects, until we see what Samsung will bring with their Note 9.
