Sony Xperia XZ3 gets portrayed inside various cases
On August 30 Sony is holding its annual press event at IFA in Berlin, and it's widely anticipated that the Xperia XZ3 will make its debut on that occasion. Like its name implies, this will be the successor to the Xperia XZ2 which was unveiled at MWC back in February.
Today case maker Olixar has seemingly revealed the design of the upcoming smartphone, showing us the following renders of the XZ3 inside a range of its protective cases.
Thus, the Xperia XZ3 seems to be a cross between the XZ2 and the XZ2 Premium in terms of design. It has a dual rear camera setup like the XZ2 Premium, yet while the lenses are pretty much in the exact same spot (like the sensors and LED flash above them and the fingerprint scanner below), they are separated.
The back seems to be curved and thicker in the middle, something we've already seen in the XZ2. On the front, the screen appears to have 18:9 aspect ratio like the XZ2, and not the more traditional 16:9 like the Premium. Oh, and the top and bottom bezels are still there. They seem to be around the same size as those of the XZ3's predecessor. So do expect a Sony logo to be featured in the bottom bezel once again, since there's plenty of room for it.
We've so far had a few conflicting reports regarding the XZ3's screen resolution. This will either be 1080x2160 like in the XZ2, or 1440x2880 as one benchmark result implied. Powering the XZ3 should be the Snapdragon 845 chipset, and it ought to have up to 6GB of RAM and a 3,240 mAh battery. It will run Android 8.1 Oreo.
Its rear camera setup will be borrowed from the Xperia XZ2 Premium, so a 19 MP main sensor and a 12 MP black and white one. The cases you can see above are already up for pre-order, you can secure your Xperia XZ3 by visiting the Source linked below.
