Reffer yourself to high definition TV screens aspects and resolutions.
On the other hand, 2:1 screens are indeed gimmicks as they dont utilise most of media content available out there without certain serious content crippling shortcomings, and screens function is to run content in full afterall...
So if you really dont need those wide aspect ratio screens...it should be considered as a gimmick all right.

Haters say 4k screen is gimmick but if their phone uses 4k screen they will say it is an innovative and great screen..
The function of super slowmotion 960fps recording is not like you record slowmo video from start to end...
It takes 0.5s to record and it takes 5s when you play it, if you record 15 minutes how long will it take to play? In once recording you can record 960fps at many times, you just push the 960fps button again and again in one video to capture only special moment. It is a smartway, you dont know How to enjoy it and you dont have the phone but you dare to bash this feature... Silly
Who said low light quality if xzp is bad? You dont know anything about it

And LG has done so much of this over the years. Of course, nearly all of these has proved useless, which is a main reason why LG is not so popular. BTW, not a LG fan, but have owned LG.

But, this shows that they did try to improve some of the problems on previous ones even if it is a minor improvement. And, every new gimmick/innovation is a welcome, I mean no hate.

Its gimmick 4k screen and 960fps camera that only works for 0.2 of a second. Why can't Sony solve its age old problem of bad low light photography ?
Truth is Sony doesn't care, as it brings out a new Flagship model every six months with virtually the same specs. Sony's game plan is to trick the public and make more sales, but guess what ?, it doesn't work Sony.
