Sony phones are value for money, had their superb phones for years since the Walkman series when Nokia was the undisputed king, Sony was still class apart then.

Samsung is not interested in Sonys gadgets such as the useless 4K screen or fingerprint/power button combo, (which BTW is also a failure) 960fps camera that only works for less than one second. Or Sony tinny, squeaky, low volume speakers, that fail after being under water.
So No, Sony still make the most flawed phones. And either don't care or lack the R & D or lack the finances to repair these age old problems of low audio volume, bad low light photography, overheating, flawed updates.
Sony designs are still 2012. Other brands are changing/modernizing designs such as bezel less phones, dual rear cameras, optical zoom, Oled, Google/Bixby buttons etc etc. This is what the public want and is all part of the phone evolution. Of course, Sony will eventually copy as Sony always does, but Sony never pioneers anything practical. Only Sony fans buy Sony phones and even those numbers are dwindling

For ex, apple engineers cant implement a full functioning bluetooth or nfc, adecent manual camera mode, even unable to provide the simplest filebrowser in their phones.
Samsung enginneers seem unable to implement the simplest stereospeaker tech, combo fingerprint and powerbutton, 960 fps recording in their camera, or even 4k mobile screen, without red tints too.
Htc and alike engineers seem unable to provide users with a simple 3.5 mm jack, or decent real balanced stereo speaker tech, or even simplest cooling graphite plate tech that prevents SoC throttling.
Seems to me Sony RnD engineers, even with low finances you mention, do make least flawed phones from an engineering perspective.
Its a wonder.

What's wrong with you all "Sony's pictures" in pictures!? I saw Luminous Chrome! When you watching it (XZp) you did forget everything about bezels!

Had Xperia Z before. Sony engineers are special kind of stupid. They still have not fixed the low audio volume, poor low light camera, low loud speaker. I love sonybphones but will not buy until they fix these major problems! Has been 5-6 years now. Same problems. Siiighhhhh

Yet another awesome sheet of glass, from The Japanese electronic giants! Sony certainly know what they are doing? when it comes to manufacturing smartphones, because this one belongs in a display cabinet!

From it's classic, masculine, angular design, to it's slick and impressive software, Sony have hit a home run! There's an old saying, which says, YOU CAN BEAT AN EGG, BUT YOU CAN'T BEAT A SONY SMARTPHONE, and it certainly holds true!
