Everyone says so....you get best results with manual, but auto is also excellent as seen by numerous tests over the net, like this one.
Some revs just complain about the camera app not being too userfriendly. That is the only complaint about lowlight camera capabilities of this phone.
Your opinion about it being terrible is just your opinion, but I cant see real factual merrit for such a statement, as even in automode it is better at lowlight than most of phone cameras out there, and certainly at th top in manual.

I love xzp because
1. The fastest phone
2. 4k display
3. 960fps slow motion
4. Enable EIS for All resolution of video, front video too. It is very stable
5. No overheating,
6. unlimited 4k video duration
7. Camera quality in good and medium light is very very good maybe the best because it has good contrast and very high dinamic range, good detail, low light condition you can use manual mode then the result is great
8. Smart design, good signal receiver. The internet is very fast
9. Big camera pixel 19mp with great quality

You can see the comparison te... moreI have the xzp and the camera is really very good I won't compare it with others since I don't trust reviews much I see to buy phone after looking at the material closely and practically. My friends and shopkeeper suggest me s8 and I'm not bias I really watch and test the s8 but the looks didn't catch me so my xzp is 1Month already and I am very happy with my choice.

The only overrated phones here are the s7 and S8.
At the moment, the Premium has the best camera and is the fastest phone in the world.
