See the LTE band that it covers. It is the combined specification of two Z5 models in one. That is impressive and usefull if you are a traveler with three SIM cards from US, Europe and Asia.

And yes S8 was supposed to be announced on MWC but they didn't, so can't talk about that.

I like the fact that the screen will only run at 4k when playing 4k videos or games. I couldn't care less if the home screen or gmail ran in 4k, it would just be wasting battery. Who really needs to be able to look at app icons or read an e-book in 4k resolution anyway? It's not like this phone is being marketed towards humans with eagle eyes transplanted into their eye sockets.

A nice looking phone but the specs don't beat the Z5 premium which have 23MP and 3430mAh battery life since XZ premium having little lesser 19MP and 3230mAh battery life, they are making is pay more for lower spec compared to it's predecessor, which I'm not satisfied at all.
Is there next flagship coming with 16MP and 3030mAh battery life.
What about a year later 13MP and 2830mAh, is Sony starting to copy Samsung, is this a joke or what???

A one month gap in release between the S8 and G6 doesn't matter. The S8 is still the one that popularize the near-bezelless screen form factor not the G6. It is the one that will be copied by others not the G6. Developers will start optimizing their apps for the wide aspect ratio because of the growing S8 userbase not the G6.
Above 500ppi, there is no more perceivable difference. Display quality is what matters more and the S8 screen is so much better than the G6's.

Like you said, Samsung was only experimenting. Tons of leaks (like per week) before the S8 was even announced, maybe done purposely for publicity. G6 was announced AND released before the S8, so G6 is the first.

Only if the bezels was slightly reduced, it looks like early 90s flat top haircut lol, Sony needs to trim that bezels for their next flagship. It's so easy to see someone this kind enlarged bezels.

These comment threads have become a usless Samsung vs. Sony debate. I believe both have their merits. My wife has the S8+ and it's top notch. Battery life, speed, build, and display are top notch. I pre ordered the Premium and believe it's going to be top notch as well. At the end if the day it's about preference. Both are flagship devices and can provide very good experiences. Think Mercedes vs. BMW. Let's stop all the bashing and focus this thread on the Premium. If you want to discuss Samsung, got to the Samsung listing please!

The S8 was supposed to be released in March because this is normally the time Samsung release their Galaxy "S" flagship series. They just delayed the release by one month for security reasons. The 18.5:9 SuperAMOLED curved display, which is the first of its kind itself, has long been on development long before LG thought of releasing a similar but technically inferior 18:9 flat LCD phone.
Sony already released a 4k display two years ago and no one followed them. Samsung has ushered in a new era in mobile technology with the release of the S8. Even Apple is going to release a tall, bezelless, curved OLED iPhone later this year. This is what you call true innovation.

One of the Killer Feature w/c has almost been neglected/forgotten by sc@m manufacturers like Sc@msung "DEDICATED SD CARD SLOT".....
Best Flagship of 2017 besides the incoming Nokia 9 probably both.

The sony xzp is obviously accepted innovated device of 2k17. The s8 never gives a gaming experience as sony xzp. The slo-mo , stunning hdr display , camera expert, adaptive charging , sound rocks , everything is so premium.No need to speak about sony's optimization it's the fastest. S8 is not even like looking like a phone.

worlds first dram stacked sensor with 960fps slomo capability,
and worlds first heat dissapating plate solution inside 4he phone.
Thats three.
I see none on S8.
Even that design solution and screen aspect ratio was first done by LG G6.

The narrow dimension and curved edges and rounded corners are more ergonomic than the big chunk of a smartphone that is the XZP.
