My phone has a 13mp camera that takes garbage photos worse than an old flip nokia. You cant judge a camera by mp, especially a Samsung, a brand not as well known for cameras as sony.

Just examine the lowlight... moreI have seen the samples already back then, but I can't view them anymore due to some weird glitch that they aren't aligned above to each other like they did before. But I have seen it, and is still good in low light. HDR+ produces noisy, but very detailed shots. S7 Edge also does the same? with only less noise but way too little details preserved, and same is what can we say with the iPhone 7 Plus.
            I wouldn't argue with artifacts anymore as they probably have solved it with the newest iterations (XZs and XZ Premium) already.
            When using Sony cameras, you'd definitely make full use of its resolution, and I don't understand why reviewers keep it at 8mp and complain for the lack of detail, but neither do I with Sony doing it so.
            OIS is no longer as great as it was on DSLRs. EIS is the future, which is why Sony greatly focused on their SteadyShot feature and made an excellent stabilization king, even better than those with OIS and OIS+EIS. Like I've said, that stabilizatio mechanism is now coming to Photo as well, which then makes it really easy for capturing blur-free low light shots, although I don't understand the lack of detail and some blur on the edges of every pictures of the XZ, but it should be great now on the XZs and XZ Premium

SD800 and SD801 are literally the same chipsets, with a bare improvement on the '1' variant. Same thing for SD820 and SD821, both of them will stop receiving support at exactly the same time since they're basically the same processors with a slight modding in the SD821. Besides, it's the real power that we really need and not the one with higher specs. Even the XZ with SD820 flashes through the Pixel phones with SD821

It does however displays how smooth the texture of an image is. But you're on a mobile phone! you won't notice the differences anyway since the screen is so damn small compared to a TV.

                              JordanBaby, 28 Mar 2017XZ is way better than the S7 Edge, what are you talking abo... moreMaybe it's true if s7 win against XZ in a multitasking sector (because XZ is lacks of 1GB more RAM than S7, and i don't know why sony don't use 4gb of RAM in XZ instead of 3GB of RAM (There is no different between XZ and XPer except of Camera tech *CMIIW)) but SONY does have un-heavily-moded Android OS UI (near android stock) compare to the S7. And who cares if you open a-lot-of-apps in a single use ? I think it just a kind of crap (i mean i just open 3 to 5 apps like fb, wa, chrome, etc. I just closed it when i've done, so it will lightly the using of RAM). And i'm glad that SONY use 4GB of RAM in XZs and a superb 860FPS slo-mo camera (they should use SD821 instead of SD820 to give a real upgrade, i just affraid if SD820 not support the next update (just like SD801 compare to SD805, SONY should use SD805 instead of 801 in Z3 so Z3 could got Nougat update just like Nexus 6, i just felt dissapointed when i knew that Z3 doesn't got Nougat update, poor Z3)) *CMIIW

                                JordanBaby, 28 Mar 2017Grainy pics wut? Every single damn camera produces noise. E... morePixel is really bad at lowlight. Just examine the lowlight shots here on arenas rev.
                                Dont know why they messed the artefacting in XZ automode, but same doesnt exist on X Compact that has same camera setup.
                                Anyways, my Performance makes great shots in lowlight automode and even better by manual mode (EV lower and shutter lower than 1/8) and guess what, even better detail preservation at 20 mpx than 8mpx.
                                True, OIS doesnt help in picture quality at all, just helps in handheld situations where it makes less blur due to hand shake. But videorecording suffers by OIS wobble effect too much.
                                Dont know if renown OIS devices can do any better by manual mode but Xperias certainly can.
                                And Xperias make really good lowlight shots, just have to keep them a bit more steady while shooting, cause lack of OIS.

Even at 50 ISO, noise exists, it will forever be on cameras, but it will never be as apparent on lower values, but still, it's there. How come OIS will solve the issue? iPhone 7 & 7 Plus, V20, 3T, S7 & S7 Edge, Mate 9, P10 & P10 Plus, literally almost all of them have OIS. And guess what? They also have noise! Some are even worse than that of the XZ (ask DxOMark for that). How about the Pixel phones with no OIS and are so-called "best camera phones?" Yes, they still produce noise! If you talk about quality, the XZ does the best along with the grain

                                  Yeah, obviously the XZ has more grain, but how about zooming? Right, nothing could really beat the XZ with resolution. But what I really mean is that it's not OIS that's going to make a difference, rather it's the quality of the hardware and how good the software takes part of it. XZ has the greatest camera hardware of any smartphone made, and the software, while not the best, is definitely a great combination to the piece of class inside the phone.

                                  EIS has been Sony's main target for years, and with that, they have managed to perfect it throughout. Name a single phone that could match the XZ's stability.

                                  That goes to show how well Sony has perfected it, and knowing it'll fully come to Photo just leaves no competition for others at all!
                                  Recent XZs sample shots look fantastic. Yes grainy, but no longer mushed details like on previous iterations. A quick comparison was even done against the G6 where it (G6) failed miserably as a top end flagship smartphone

                                  The reason Sony isn't putting OIS is for a fact that it makes a camera hump and a waste of space since EIS can just offer an even better quantity without wasting space *cough U Ultra*
                                  Chinese OEMs have OIS on their cameras, yet I could barely, or not at all, name at least one of them with OIS, and can beat a Sony Xperia camera WITHOUT OIS.

                                  Regarding support, what do you mean that Sony doesn't care to its customers? Doesn't care like providing the latest Security Patch update regularly? Releasing Nougat to the phones within the Z3+'s time early and quickly? I don't know what you mean by support, but to be real, Sony doesn't need it at all. The quality of their phones are excellent. I'm rocking a Sony earphones costing $20, and with aggressive abuse of mine, it's still surprisingly working, although I've managed to wreck the right ear plug, but that was my fault. I have used a Samsung headset and it broke by continuous click of the control key, and I was like "WTH?!"

                                        So for example you have to pay one very clever person to make and develop something great.
                                        But large corporations pay thousands of people to develop something where few or even one genius is enough to make.
                                        This is way how to flush money and rob people so these large corporations never bankrupt.
                                        Its same example like gas for cars.
                                        In saudi arabia it cost 0,01 eur per gallon and in countries like England, France, US etc any driver pay 2 eurs for 1 liter.
