Expectations never come true with Sony still end up with nothing special,
we already have Z5 Premium With 5.5" Screen and 4K Display what so special With XZ Premium, Still 5.5" No OIS and No Bigger battery still 3230mAh in fact Z5 Premium is more 3430mAh battery, using 4K Display smartphone needs more battery i expect this time Sony give at least 3600mAh battery but still disappoint, nothing special
carrying in pocket Z5 Premium with Weight 180g is not much comforts and now Sony surprise with Weight 195g XZ Premium Oh please..

Brilliant Sony, amazing specs as per usual, destroy the competition. However a 6+" screen would have been perfect with this resolution.

If we compare specs and price i will guarantee you i can find a lot more phones better than this plastic sony mobile with that ugly price.
If you need an example 18 months ago as brand new Sony Z5 premium cost almost 1400 eur now its cost 400 also brand new.

Other companies try to reduce screen to body ratio but they still make it like several years ago. I was a fan of sony however now i think i should shift to LG or even Huawei because sony do not care what its customers want.

For me, Sony designs are tailored to the look of business executives. It has a professional, elegant look to it. It gives an image of seriousness to anyone seeing it, while still keeping some sense of friendliness.
Other designs from different brands, cater to a different set of customer tastes. I think what makes Samsung is so successful is that they have a "playful" image. Something that most customers expect from a phone that they use. "They want to play with it. Not to have a serious discussion with it" It's also reflected on the way the interface is designed, like how TouchWiz and Xperia Home differs in designs.
Every phone manufacturers always change their design for each generation both subtle or revolutionary. Even Sony has quite made subtle changes in its design from time to time. It's just simply that "playful" image allows the designers to have more possibilities of designing their phones. There are more design options that convey the "playful" image. That's why different manufacturers still have many design variation yet conveying the same "playful/fun" image. Going with the business executive elegance image, there's not much room for design improvement or variation by the designers. But for us who wants those image to shine through, Sony's phones always do the trick.

Sony makes great smartphone and every year they make groundbreaking revolution throughout their phones. But through each iteration, there's always something making it far from perfect. My ideal smartphone that I expect this year would be:
XZ Premium specs are perfect with 5.2" 4K HDR Screen. Because 5.5" is too big for my hand and very difficult to navigate through with the thumb. The Z2 Speaker and LED notification placement is perfect. With the Sony cover, the opening is perfectly placed on the speaker allowing sounds to project and LED notification lights inconspicuously visible. The last thing that will make my ideal Xperia is the material. Shiny metal actually make it look cheap and fingerprint magnet, a matte metal look with slightly matte glass material makes the phone exclusive and luxurious.
That's all really. The specs are perfect, the sensors, cameras, everything is awesome. But what's making it far from perfection for me is the screen size, speaker and LED notification light placement, and body material.
Yet, either they have poor marketing team or the customer themselves are too brand-minded to care for anything else. Either way, it's not looking good for Sony.. it's a shame really and I don't even know where to point the finger to blame for their poor market share.
