LIRKER, 26 Feb 2018That's right. I rather see they keep the old design instead... moreWhatever floats your boat. To me, the new design is way better than the old one. The new design is much more ergonomic than the slab-like design of the older Xperias. For me, ergonomics are more important than looks.
Omnibalance reached its pinnacle with the Z5. After that, the design just went downhill. The "loop design" used in the XZ series made the phones look like power banks. Plus, they added more bezels while making the devices bigger in all dimensions and also decreasing battery capacities.
It took a few years to perfect omnibalance, so I expect the same to happen with the Sony's new design language.

Glad that they stopped at where they are going for their cameras now and focused on improving the camera software instead of releasing new gimmicks as what I think in my own opinion, which doesn't improve photo quality, I'm glad they realized that. If they have way better results for their photo quality, I assume they will continue making some cool but gimmicky tech for their cameras, no offense, but as of now I think 960fps Super Slow-Mo is still considered a gimmick for most smartphone users out there, maybe it will be considered "useful" next time, but it is great to see brands starting to show how powerful a small smartphone camera sensor can be

Okay. Now compare to HTC U11+ more deeper. I'm actually musician producer. Sometimes I play games too in max settings. So what should I use for my daily driver? In speaker, specifications, display, music quality, equalizer, FLAC, Build quality, Beautiful of color. Headphone jack is not important for this comparison.

And the majority ... moreUntil the very release of a couple of sample pics from a prototype (which still are MIA though... took their time now; kinda feels like the XZ2 was rushed up/half-backed in it's announcement and is unclear to me if it was the model affected at the last minute on those FCC papers - http://www.xperiablog.net/2018/02/13/sony-has-a-change-of-heart-on-the-design-of-its-latest-flagship/ ) I'm obliged to think it's the same performance... heck; even the little "upgrades" on codecs, resolution or fps is due to new SoC only so... we'll have to wait for algorithm changes in software.
Hope they nail it this time; it's everything there to be one of the best cameras...

LIRKER, 26 Feb 2018That's right. I rather see they keep the old design instead... moreActually, instead of totally change the design, they can still stay on their current design present on smartphones before this current XPERIA XZ2. The word "Mirai", defines "future". What is the future design for smartphones now? The urge to push out bezeless smartphones. Their design looks good like on their XPERIA XZ PREMIUM, shaving off the bezels and slightly refine the sides. Okay now they put the fingerprint sensor behind, the placement is fine, but it doesn't feel at home, let's wait till they release one with a under-display fingerprint sensor, that will be great. The side bezels on the XPERIA XZ2, kind of disappointing, the fingerprint sensor is behind the smartphone already, but I see almost no difference in the side bezels, they can definitely put in more effort to it. Well, previously Sony SAMSUNG and LG were praised for keeping the 3.5mm headphone jack, and now they removed it...I don't know why, since they are very good at music, plus removing it doesn't bring any benefits, the thickness didn't even change. This time they really screw up on that. Look at OnePlus, they still stick to their own design, and just trim down the bezels for the OnePlus 5T, with the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack. But nevertheless I am especially concerned with the camera performance...

when i 1st got my job, my 1st salary i use to buy sony Ericsson k530i. What a beautiful phone, nice camera and sound so loud. After that i upgraded to xperia Arc s, then xperia ion. I alson have used xperia L, xperia z, z ultra, Z, z1, z2, z3 and now XZ Premium. i planned to upgrade once more time if sony released xz pro, but sadly the xz2 is disappointing me.. but never mind.. THE BEST IS YET TO COME, believe in sony.

XZ1/Premium with smaller bezels and, why not, the placing of front speakers like Z2... Ow man; that was my dream phone!... Much likely to the 'Y' concept leaked in 2015 - Too bad it never became a reality...
Almost 4 years with my Z3... It endured a lot, lol - Now I'm upset, dissappointed and even frightened if they continue this design trend at IFA with the pro; so long outplacing S9+... entire months waiting anxiously for the no-show announcement performed today :(
I'm gonna spend, here in my country, the day after tomorrow almost US$1000 for a proven, future-proof, beast of a flagship (even though it's a year old model now) like the XZ Premium Sony... you aren't to blame for that but if you dissapoint me in a couple of months you will be as I've got a mixed feeling from now on like a lot of your soon to be "used-to-be-fans"

Most or some Asians don't go bar. For me go out with friends is like having dinner & attending party but not go bar. They know me as a photographer. But I'm not oftenly bring the backpack wherever I go :-)

It's looks like this is my last sony smartphone. They have changed their unique design with xz2. They have started to copy others design. I bought this just because of sony's unique design. Good bye sony.
