You can also try to crop part of the video using default, vlc, mx player,etc. 4k capable media players then check its properties. If it displays *x2160p then its 4k, if *x1080p 1080p since the app will crop based on the display resolution.
If still hysterical, just believe me & many XZ Premium users it plays 4k hdr videos unless the display got replaced by 3rd party.

You can see how more sharper or more pixels the XZP is displaying compared to 1080p phone only.

YouTube's stats for nerds only shows video's resolution, not display's. Even my other 1080p display phones show 2160p resolution on YouTube, so that's not reliable.

Prashant, 07 Nov 2022Yes I know that. My query is that how can we confirm/check ... moreThen download a 4K video & check playback info/status on your preferred player eg. MX Player or VLC or Stock Player. If its outputting 2160p etc. then its 4k.
You can also check on Youtube, select/search 4k hdr 60fps etc video & choose 4k on preferred resolution. Go to Youtube Settings, General, Check stats for nerds, then while playing 4k Youtube Video Check Status, it should state what is the resolution of the display panel there & video resolution.

In one year it becomes completely inoperable as a phone: both microphone and sound dynamic stopped working, so service center's resolution was to replace motherboard.
So instead of cell phone I've got a tab of 6'' diagonal without sound features (just bluetooth connect sound speaker still works).
It's a shame for Sony to produce phone that becomes out of order in a year.

Have that phone for 5 years now.
Had many Xperias (P, Z2, M5), the XZ Premium, from far is the best, still fully functionnal, better than my actual professional SAMSUNG A50 crap.
Restarts sometimes for no reason, the only problem, ever. Camera, amazing. Fast at everything, still up to date, solid and scratch resistant.
I'm about to change for a Xperia 1 II, no fear that it will meet it's little brother the XZ.

Then I buy ... moreBecause in Japan there are secondhand market, so the thrown away phone from japan people because they upgrade to newer series since japan cellphone market based on contract is collected into one store and sold in very cheap price
You may say the price 799USD but since the phone was in contract maybe they were not paid directly 799USD but monthly payment and after some times they can upgrade it to newer series
So there will be no counterfeit phone since it is from Japan secondhand market, and if you say refurb? Not all seller will refurb it due to money and hard to find the spare parts
